Palm Garden's Online Review Report Card

The toughest thing to do is figure out the best place to take your elderly Parent if they need short term or long term care. There is no perfect place, but Palm Garden is pretty close. My Dad had to go for short term PT. I was pleasantly surprised at the outstanding care he received. I have been taking care of my Dad for 7 years. What I loved is they are a team and whenever I needed something for my Dad someone went to his room to check on him. Pat McCarver is the owner and she runs a tight ship. They are great at vetting their staff of RN's, Concierge, PT, OT, HR and Mgmt. My Dads name is Barry and I am Janice. I want to give some shout outs to some of the people that I feel were outstanding and caring. Brianna, Rachel and Rosemora were there to meet and greet, run to the room if needed. Very lovely people who care. Judy Hoover Supervisor of nursing was not above going to my Dads room at night to check on him. Tammy, Dee, Brianna M, Jean, Thelma, Mary Delia and  Jocelyn AWESOME! Some other people Amy and Becky. I hope I got everyone who deserves a shout out 10 out of 10. Some people give bad reviews please don't let that deter you from choosing Palm Garden of Sun City I promise you the experience I had was heartwarming and renewed my feelings about LTC centers, but only Palm Garden of Sun City Center is where my Dad will go. All you have to do is talk with the wonderful Directory of guest services Penny in Admissions. Cindy in Social services was also outstanding. Everyone that I met was caring! Thank you Pat McCarver for owning a place a parent can call home.

I spent 36 days at this center. The staff is very well trained and helpful. The atmosphere is more like a family than a workplace. The Physical therapists are dedicated to getting you back into life again. I want to thank Staff and Administration for a enjoyable and productive stay.

My mother in law was there for 3 weeks, their phones never worked they never called us once during her stay which was very stressful to begin with since during the Covid we are not allowed to visit or physically see her. If we called her the only way to speak to her was if one of the nurses took her their personal cell phone...to make matters worse they did not even call us to let us know that someone had tested positive for Covid they informed us by mail. When it came time to discharge her my husband called and ask if they were going to test her before release and they said no...fast forward 4 days and guess what she has tested positive and is back in our local hospital. Do not place a love one in this facility...

The two stars are for the two decent people we met. My grandma was only there for 1 night and half a day and was forgotten about for all 3 meals. Attitude in regards to bedpans. Lady across the hall begging to be taken to the bathroom. They wet the corner of a towel with COLD water for her to wash her face, really couldn’t let it warm up for a sec. She didn’t have access to all her medications (most importantly they wouldn’t let her finish her ANTIBIOTICS) and had to fight to keep her bottle of hand sanitizer with her while she’s immunocompromised on chemotherapy. Not happy with the way they treat their patients.

My mom was brought in after total knee replacement surgery. She was well taken care of from the get go and every staff member was so cordial and caring. I remember bringing an issue to their staff’s attention. The issue was resolved immediately on the spot. From nurse, aids, administration, to PT, OTR therapists all give their attention to their patients. In return all their staff asks for is a little respect and patience. Kudos to the staff for being patient and helping the patients. The administration is fully engaged and evaluates each patient. They hold weekly care meetings with you to evaluate patients progress. Their goal is to get you up and moving and see you improve and recover. Thank you to all the staff members 🙏.

LISA ,THE HEAD OF DEPT.DOES A GREAT JOB AND HAS A GREAT CREW. I HAD SURGERY ON MY LEFT KNEE IN JULY AND THE RE HAB I VE GOTTEN HERE AT PALM GARDEN IN JUST 2 DAYS WAS FAR MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN THE FACILITY I HAD GONE TO EARILER.WISH I WOULD HAVE CAME HERE FIRST.I HAD ART AND DEBBIE FOR THERAPY THEY SPENT THE ENTIRE SESSION WITH ME.I WILL HAVE TO SAY ART IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SHOWED ME MORE IN 1 SESSION THAN 5 TIMES AT THE OTHER at the other facility.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RE HAB TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET BACK TO FEELING BETTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.THANK YOU LISA AND STAFF

My Mom received the absolute best care and rehabilitation therapy at Palm Garden of Sun City Center. The entire staff including the Director, Doctors, Nurses, those that cooked, cleaned, just everyone was fantastic. I would highly recommend this facility. Thank you.

I was extremely disappointed in the care my mother received at this facilityThe wait time for assistance for a pressing need, (for example: to be assisted from the toilet with a broken pelvis was 30 minutes)And help arrived only after I went into the Hallway.The first 2 nurses I asked for help flat out refused care.The Administration’s response to me was very arrogant, uncaring and defensive!

I was hospitalized for 3 weeks due to some complications after major back surgery. I was in bad shape and wasn't able to stand on my own, let alone walk so I was transferred over to Palm Gardens in Sun City. I'll be honest, I was terrified, I've never been to an impatient Rehabilitation center, plus this one was also assisted living so I wasn't sure what I was facing. Palm gardens is the best thing that happened to me! The staff in this place has been incredibly supportive both emotionally and physically. From Nursing to Physical and Occupational therapy, to the administrative teams these folks are wonderful!! If you're looking for a place that's gonna rehabilitate you quick, this is the team. I was in a wheel chair when I arrived and in a matter of 3 days they had me up and walking!! They are kind and professional and they truly care about the well being of their patients. If you're looking for a place to bring your loved ones, consider Palm Gardens, they will care for your family when you're not able to. God Bless these people, thanks for giving me my body back!!! ;)
