Carlos E Ballestas's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Carlos for over five years. I no longer have insurance and still go out of my way to see his office and pay out of pocket. My last two experiences with this office was horrendous and for that reason I will not be returning. For starters the front desk staff needs assistance I have tried calling this office multiple times every time I call it’s a busy signal according to the receptionist they are getting over 600 calls a day and cannot manage it. The last time I visited this office Dr. Goldstein was very adamant on why I should get the vaccine although I explain to him for religious reasons I could not he kept persisting and told me to stop spreading Covid. My last visit yesterday I had been sick for 10 days so even if I had Covid I was no longer contagious . The front office happily took my $99 and when it came time for me to go into see the physician after driving 30 minutes to the office Dr. Carlos decided to do a virtual appointment by the elevator

Very disappointed...

Been a patient now for almost 3 years. Love the way he treats me and always friendly. Never waited more than 5 minutes in office. Came in originally and diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (a1c 12.7). Ouch. Devised plan to try diet and exercise first with NO medication. A1C went down to 6.2. Still take no medication presently. Completely appreciate not being told I needed to take pills when other options were available. Would highly recommend

Zero stars should be an option! Very rude, arrogant, and dismissive of symptoms and patient concerns. Barely examines when attempting to perform a routine physical which lasted about 3 minutes. Requested labs/ blood work and bases decision for treatment (or lack there of) for aches & pain, numbness, sleeplessness, and depression on those results. Called for follow up and was told everything was normal. I explained that I continue experiencing the above symptoms. I was told to "Call Joe Rogan for a prescription" and he immediately ended the call like a coward. No way this indivudual should hold a license to practice medicine. Wouldn't recommend to anyone at all.

Dr. Ballestas has been our primary care Doctor for over 10 years. Why my husband and I have never taken the time to leave a review is beyond me. Words can not express how thankful we are to have this Gentleman overseeing our care. He listens and remembers. He cares. We never feel rushed during our visits and his follow through and follow up shows just how much he cares for his patients. No matter what the purpose of our appointment his depth of knowledge is so reassuring. This review would not be complete without a "two thumbs up" for his assistant Claudia. She treat us like family. She calls to check up on us if she is concerned. I am guessing they both feel fortunate to be working together. I know we are. Thank you is not enough. We appreciate you. Dr. Ballestas.

Desfortunadamente no tuve la posibilidad de conocer al Dr. por negligencia del staff. Según la jefe de enfermeras, la Sra Dawn y la señora que hace las citas, la oficina confirma el número de identificación del seguro 1 día antes si el seguro que uno tiene es aceptado o no. Cuando con el solo nombre del seguro ya lo habían confirmado a la hora de hacer la cita. Después de esperar 10 días para la cita es ilógico hacer esa pregunta. Jugar con el tiempo de los pacientes de esta manera irresponsable, es inaudito. En mi caso personal perdí él día de trabajo junto con mis hijos quienes también lo pidieron. El médico puede ser el mejor del mundo pero si sus auxiliares no trabajan eficientemente, el Dr. no puede mostrar sus capacidades. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Very easy to schedule virtual visits. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Dr. Ballestas is always extremely patient with me and explains things very clearly.

I would not recommend him to my friends or family. In fact, I will not be returning. This appointment was incredibly rushed and careless. Doctor spent more time looking at his computer than trying to listen and understand what was going on with my health. If I didn’t already have an idea, I’m sure I would have gotten absolutely nothing out of this. He did not order the basic labs which come with every physical, so I had to call back and ask for them. Did not refer me to the specialist I clearly needed and he also downplayed my symptoms. This is incredibly dangerous because I left feeling km like my problems were not heard and my issues would continue. Definitely one of the worst doctors I’ve ever been to. Makes me incredibly sad that someone who is supposed to be empathetic of his patients could not show one ounce of interest. This is a doctors appointment, not a mechanic, but that’s exactly what it felt like.
