I was not impressed!! I took my son there and the nurse did all the exams and images like usual. She was very thorough but Dr. Appiah was not. He looked at his eyes and ordered more pictures. Then told me he needed to do some kind of retinal test, but that we had to come back another day. He told me he had somewhere to be and didn't have time to do it. He also told me next time I need to come earlier or schedule on a Mon or Wednesday because he won't have to leave. So basically I am now going to have to pay for another visit to complete something that should have been done this visit. Not happy!!!

Many yrs ago, I had several sessions of cryosurgery in Dr. A's office when it was on Capital Cir NE. He was so very uncaring when the surgery was UNBEARABLE for me. I explained that I have headaches that generate from my eye, nosebleeds, and extreme pressure... he acutally became angry with me when trying to complete my last surgery kept he and his nurse there way past 5 pm. I asked on 2 of these, if there could be ANYTHING behind my eye that is causing this routine surgery to be so unbearable. He had to keep stopping. I began to cry tears fromt he pain. He was impatient, saying, "no one reacts like this, and to just STOP." Turns out I had a GRADE IV brain tumor that had taken over my eye's orbit, and eaten through the bones of my face and eye orbit, which I'm sure caused the excessive pain with cryosurgery. I have always wondered why he was so uncaring. I have since had surgery with reconstruction, chemo, radiation, and am still alive by God's grace!

I have been to many RS's he and one in Panama City are the only ones to use. I have a rare disorder and he is the only one that gives an injection when I need it! Sometimes by the time clinical signs are seen on oct the damage is already done. He gets it I'm in my body and I see it before he can. He is honestly the best Dr. I have ever seen. There are very few in Tallahassee that I will go to they are quacks and just want money for nothing and not truly treat your disorder.

I have been a patient of Dr. Appiah's for many years now and have received nothing less than the highest quality of care. I have RP and his mission is to keep what vision I have left. He attends many conferences around the globe and stays informed as to the latest in vision restoration and eye disease research. I feel confident recommending him to anyone with eye issues or just want a top notch doctor.
