He is the best endocrinologist I ever had, if I could give him 10 stars I would. My previous doctor retired and I am glad they transferred me to Dr K.

Excellent physician; takes time to explain and answer questions

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Kafrouni’s I believe, since he came to Tallahassee. I saw one before him, who prescribed metformin and just watched my A1C. She didn’t comment on my numbers or the scales. She didn’t order any further labs to see if I had other medical reasons why it stayed the same. She never suggested for me to journal my glucose during the day or even asked what I ate. At the first visit, with Dr. Kafrouni, I was there for close to two hours as he got to know me. He thoroughly went through my chart, asked specific questions. He didn’t demean me, make me feel inferior or body shame me. Oh, he asked me if I always sweated as much as I did then, as I sucked down my 32oz bottom water! He noticed small things I didn’t pick up on, and it’s my body! He actually gave me hope. My A1C was high at over 9. Within 3 months, my glucose was down to 7.2! Have I slipped? Yes, but again, he never makes me feel bad. He will ask what happened and he tells me, it’s ok, I’ll get back on track. He’ll tell me just because I messed up that day, doesn’t mean I need to be so hard on myself. Start over the next day. He has given me so much confidence, self-respect and dignity. Knowing he cares so much, makes me want to care just as much as he does! Now, that’s just a window into his office. His staff is just as wonderful! Lasonja has been a Godsend! Trying to get my meds covered by insurance and Medicare has been a battle! She hasn’t stopped fighting them for me! I can be a pain in the butt, sending her messages. However, she Always, Always, submits whatever she needs to, to help get them covered AND she sends me a message or calls me to acknowledge that she has done so. As you know, I’m not their only patient. I do apologize for being a pain. She usually says it’s her pleasure or she’ll do whatever needs to be done to get the meds covered. As if I AM the only patient! They do make me feel like it! Seriously, if you need an endocrinologist, please get an appointment with them. He’s with Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. He’s behind the NE Lowes on Walaunee. There’s plenty of parking and easy to get to. No parking garages, hospitals, etc. I am leaving this review because if you’re like me, you want a practice who actually sees you as a person first, then a patient. I could spend hours writing a review for Dr. Kafrouni. He is by far the most compassionate, patient & caring physician I’ve ever encountered. He’s prepared for every encounter, making it clear he reviews my chart prior to seeing me. He explains everything thoroughly & is patient while answering questions. His expertise in the thyroid is unmatched & I feel lucky to be his patient!

It took some time getting in, but when I did it was great!!! Just started this health issue but I feel like I got the best doctor to see me through this!!!

I have spent 4 months trying to schedule. If I do ever get a hold of someone they say that they have my referral, but they are to busy to schedule me and someone will call me. 4 months later I am still trying to schedule and they still tell they are to busy! I have a history of thyroid cancer and need ultrasounds, lab tests and a thyroid check every year to make sure it hasn’t come back. These people obviously do not care about health! This just doesn’t seem right! I will be contacting the hospital board to complain.

Dr. Kafrouni is the best doctor the field of endocrinology has to offer here in Tallahassee. Truly one of a kind. He is caring, compassionate, and an awesome listener....listens, listens, it's a skill that some health care professionals know nothing about but Dr. Kafrouni has a grade of 110% out of 100. He gives you the tools needed for you to actively participate in your own Healthcare.Love this doctor. You will have made an excellent choice to chose him as your endocrinology provider.
