Dr. Maitland has been my neurologist for 17 years when he first diagnosed me with NMO/MS, and is the reason I still have vision in at least one of my eyes and am not in a wheelchair. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced.

OMG 😳 I visited and was utterly disgusted by the chairs In his office! The office is full of chairs that had HUGE pee stains In EVERY ONE!! One even had a sign in it the said "Don't sit here" TMH needs to be ashamed of themselves. Not to mention the long wait for the doctor. My appointment was at 9am and I sat in the back until 11! Finally I got up and left. Not to mention Doctor falling asleep as he is talking to you...Lord have mercy. This place sucks..go somewhere else. I feel like I have to go home and shower 🤢 While I was there a lady said she wore white pants and sat down one day and back of her pants where ruined! Boy she was mad and nothing was done about it😡

I really like Dr Maitland and he has been my neurologist for a couple of years now. He is knowledgeable, patient, explains things well and he's down to earth too. This guy has decades of experience and you can't put a price tag on that. I worked for 30 years as an RN and experience in a healthcare provider means everything to me. This guy knows his stuff. I am so glad that he is my neurologist.

I did a check up with Dr. Maitland in the past and he came across as experienced, competent, insightful, respectful, and a man of integrity.

Complete waste of time and money for me… Dr Maitland never listens to my concerns and has horrible bed side manner. Once he “diagnosis” you with an imaginary condition he won’t seek out any other actual diagnosis even after second opinions determine you don’t have that imaginary issue. I will be going elsewhere..

Diagnosed and treated Downbeat Nystagmus. Set up appointments with knowledgable therapist to help identify problems associated with my rare condition.

Reception area is old and dirty. Dr. Maitland is very kind but it is way past time for him to retire. He does not have qualified staff to handle his office needs. It is a sad situation!

I love, love, love Dr. Maitland! However, the waiting room was deplorable! This chair has what appears to be a URINE stain and it wasn't the only one! 😳

Got a referral from my retinologist. However Dr Maitlands office does not answer their phone. After several weeks of leaving messages they finally called me back and left me a message that they had one appointment on the last day before I started a new job out of town and asked me to call and confirm. Of course they didn’t answer the phone so I drove to Tallahassee to their office to confirm. They had already given away my appointment. The woman at the front desk was rude and unaccommodating, saying they don’t answer their phone because there’s only one doctor there and they would never get anything done if they did. This is the shabbiest medical treatment I have ever received in my life. I would never ever recommend anyone using this doctor. Don’t waste your time or money on this doctor. Question the judgement of anyone who refers you to Dr Maitland.

The staff moved my husband’s first visit up immediately when I described worsening symptoms. Dr. Maitland and staff were exceedingly kind and professional. He gave a thorough exam and diagnosis, prescribing medicine which is helping quickly, and providing reason material on several aspects of the disease. Although tough to get through on the phone, once answered the assistance is quick and pleasant.
