List of David Kahn's Reviews
Doctor Kahn has been my VA primary care physician for about 20 years. He has always shown me the utmost professionalism, respect and curtesy. He even gave me his personal phone number when I was having issues receiving a certain medication from the VA. Doctor Kahn worked with the VA pharmacy to insure I received the right medication, as I was having severe side effects from the generic brand the system was trying to give me. Doctor Kahn intervened on my behalf to resolve the issue. During the pandemic in 2020, Doctor Kahn personally called me to check on my wellbeing – not something most patients can say about their doctors. From my first experience with the Tallahassee VA Clinic, I have been completely satisfied with the treatment I’ve received, the servicing staff and most of all, Doctor David Kahn.
BS. In my opinion, you are just wanting to make money the easy way, or waaaaay too cautious in living life. . I waited weeks and now you arbitrarily and without talking to me or inquiring about my situation changed the appointment from FACE to FACE to video. You should have said that from the beginning, but I think you think that if you wait till the last minute the patients will comply. we are at 6-23-21...no longer under any mandate. Sorry, not me. Very unethical in my opinion. Will also notify #Humana
EDIT: TRIGGER WARNING - Mention of Surgery Complications To any trans folx considering this surgeon - This doctor is not culturally competent enough to provide gender affirming care. I had to go to David Kahn because that is all my insurance would cover. I am a transmasculine individual who needed top surgery urgently, as it was gender affirming, live saving surgery. First red flag was when Dr. Kahn refused to show any of his previous top surgery outcomes to me when I politely asked at my visit. He also remarked to me, the first time we met, that he "Hates when they're hairy.", when examining to my then-breasts which were covered with gender affirming chest hair from the testosterone injections I had been giving myself intentionally for years at this point. His Physician's assistant needlessly told me that top surgery (double mastectomy and chest reconstruction) was nothing more than a "glorified mole removal" as well. After my surgery, Dr. Kahn did not check on me before I left, and the hospital staff refused to give me anti-nausea medication before I was wheeled out the door with a large (fist-sized) bruise on my upper pectoral area. This would later to be found to be a hematoma I would have to return to standford ER for emergency surgery to remove 3 days after my original surgery. In the ER, I was consistently misgendered by staff even though I had a full beard, had 2 non patent IV's put in place, had pain medication incorrectly supplied into my arm under my skin (burns!), and was induced into anesthesia screaming in pain because his emergency OR team forgot to replace my IV catheter before inducing me. After waking from the second surgery I was inconsolable and demanded an investigation into the circumstance. I later received a letter from Standford saying they found no evidence of wrongdoing. I still have nightmares about this second surgery every night. To any trans folx reading this: Avoid this surgeon if you value your mental and physical health. He does not seem to care about providing gender affirming care and does not deserve your insurance's nice paycheck. Oh, and I have terrible "dog ears" of loose skin on both sides of my surgery scars, to which I need revision, but I'm too terrified to go back under due to this experience.
Terrible bedside manner. I would not feel comfortable proceeding with a surgeon not knowing whether my needs were understood.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Kahn. An extremely knowledgeable and competent surgeon, he doesn't talk much and overdo the details. Any questions I had were answered confidently and directly. He knows what he is doing. I went in for a consultation for top surgery, and in a month had surgery. I was very impressed with my chest contouring. He made clean and symmetrical incisions, and I had zero complications due to following his aftercare instructions. I have recommended Dr. Kahn to others seeking top surgery and they have been just as happy with their results. He is very capable and I'm really grateful to have had him as a surgeon. If you're looking for someone to get the job done right, I'd go to Dr. Kahn. But if you're more interested in a surgeon who will talk your ear off about every little thing they will be doing, maybe he might not be your best match. In my experience, I've had people talk a big game and deliver poor results. In my opinion, Dr. Kahn is more of an action guy who doesn't need to prove he knows what he's doing, because he just does! That being said, he's happy to answer any questions and provide you with relevant information regarding the process. Hope this helps! Here are my results.
He has been my primary care doctor for several years. He's always receptive and been able to provide consults when requested.
Update: 4 stars In my original review I left out that I *did* feel uncomfortable with Dr. Kahn at times. He mentioned my weight and body a lot and I had to send him a note to stop talking about it. He doesn't talk much but he's a nice guy and a great surgeon still.
Dr. Khan is a good doctor and good man. He cares for people.
I am 1 day post op with a breast reduction from Dr. Kahn and so far so good. His bedside manner is very laid back. He is not an over talkative surgeon, but I am fine with that. He was nice and explained the procedure to me. The day of surgery he came in and marked me, he was very meticulous with his markings. He measured me to make sure everything would be even and the same size. I have had no issues so far, I will update after my post OP appointment next week. But again so far my. Rest look great from what I can I see through the bandages that have come off. The medication he gave me for pain is working well. I had a good experience. My incisions look great...
Dr. Kahn was in charge of my top surgery and everything went beautifully. He's very trans friendly

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
