Henry Messer's Online Review Report Card

Several years ago was a patient of Dr. Messer. Developed a condition that required surgery 2 separate times. Dr. Messer made the time to thoroughly explain his findings; the expected outcome; and alternatives; making himself available to answer any questions related to making my decision. He cared about more than the specific condition, guiding to address overall health. Made himself a true partner in my healthcare. Never found another Doctor like this after leaving the area. Reading through those surgical records several years later, saw how thorough his surgical notes had been. Can not imagine anybody giving this man a low rating; you just do not find human beings like him every day.

I was a patient in 2009. I found his bedside manner entertaining and refreshing, however, I can see how he may not be for everyone. He found an enlarged cyst on my first visit that needed removed in an emergency surgery. Ended up needing my entire ovary removed and Dr Messer did so, as well as preformed a DNC due to finding a excess of fibroids in my uterus. I got married 2 months post surgery and got pregnant on our honeymoon...one ovary and all! He was no longer delivering babies so I had them delivered with midwives. I have never had issues and was actually still quite fertile considering I am only with 1 ovary!

This doctor is the worst, I have severe pelvic floor issued and this doctor made me think that it was all in my head. His license should be revoked

Doctor Messer is a wonderful doctor but his office staff is poorly managed and has a high turnover rate. I've waited over an hour to see the doctor.

This is the worst Dr. I have ever been to. He never answered any of my questions, his answer was always I don't know here's a pamphlet. You have to wait forever before you can get any answers on your exams vs him looking through a microscope and telling you right then and there. I stopped going to him and returned to my old Dr., whom I should have never left. I have been asking Dr. Messer's office to send my medical records over for months and they still have failed to do so. It seems as if all they want is money and to perform exam after exam. Let's not forget waiting forever for him to see you, I waited in the exam room about an hour while he talked about dogs with another patient. I would stay far away from Dr. Messer, he really need to retire because he shouldn't be anyone's Dr.

I went in for my yearly visit and everything was fine. He gave me 3 months of samples and phoned in a prescription. Little did I know he had phoned in only 3 months of prescription. They called last week for a follow up. I initially scheduled, assuming the consultation would be cheaper. Instead, they informed me it would be another 40.00. When I told them I didn't need to consult him on anything and that I was unemployed and just needed a refill, they told me: "Birth control changes all the time. We want you to be up to date on new technology and if we just refilled your prescription it could be 2 years before we see you again." I told them I am moving out of state in 2 weeks, implying I would never see them again anyway. She ignored my comment and told me that if I am unsatisfied with going at least twice a year, I should find a different physician. Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment. What a horrible experience! He tried to force me back with a 3 month refill.

I've had great experience with this doctor. He really cares about my health more than I care for it. He stayed on top of all the things I needed to do. He always answers all my questions, no matter how ridiculous they are. As to pap smears and the other comments regarding this doctor refusing to do them, I've had the opposite experience. It seemed to me that he wanted to do more pap smears than I thought necessary. He always wanted to double-check with me. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Messer continuously calls me in for more exams and has performed the pap smear wrong twice in the two times I've seen him for one - I've had to be rescheduled for a new appointment both times. He listens to the words I say but goes off on some tangent about past patients that have nothing to do with me, and talks to me like I will become hysterical at any time. It took six months of complaining for me to not have to wait 2 and a half hours in the waiting and exam rooms for a half hour exam. I would find a new doctor in a heartbeat if my insurance would cover the out of network cost.

Absolutely wonderful. Worked with me through personal conflict and insurance troubles. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help the patient.

I moved to FL from NC and was very hesitant about finding another GYN. I started seeing Dr. Messer and found him to be a wonderful, caring doctor. I needed surgery and he explained everything to me and my family and was there for me every step of the way. I just wish there were more physicians like Dr. Messer. He is a great, caring, friendly doctor. He is more of a friend than any doctor I have every seen and is genuinely concerned about your well being.
