Lawrence Kaelin's Online Review Report Card

Today Dr. Kaelin basically asked was my breathing any better and did I have a polyp taken care of that they found in a scan that I had. He seemed to be focused on anything but my 3 aneurysms, He then went on to tell me I was a bad risk for surgery in his opinion, if I understood him correctly. He did not feel that I would live through the surgery due to my COPD. He basically sounded like he was saying surgery would be waisted on me. When I tried to discuss this, he avoided my concerns of what he just told me by focusing on the swelling in my feet and legs, and finished up with me as quickly as possible. I felt rushed through the appt. I am very dissatisfied with my treatment. What's the use in keeping any more appt's. with this doctor? I will seek another opinion!

Thanks Dr.Kaelin for making my surgery a phenomenal success! The only complaint;,soak surgical dressings with normal saline before removal! Nurses can have the order written and have this done as doctors are making rounds! The removal of the dressing to my foot was devastating! Dr.Kaelin is a brilliant vascular surgeon.To date,two weeks post surgery,I’m doing very well.He makes the after care instructions meticulously and thorough.My care plan entails everything necessary for an expedient recovery.I would give him on a scale of 0-10,with 10being the highest,he and his team a10!??Sincerely,Jacqueline Kimbrough

had an appointment, still had to wait over 2 hours

My husband’s surgery was postponed several hours because Dr. Kaelin was called in to repair an accidental artery nick made by another surgeon. Dr. Kaelin is obviously a meticulous surgeon.

Wonder beside maner and an excellent Vascular Surgeon. Staff extremely attentive.

Was left in chronic pain from his surgery. Would not recommend him.

Dr. Kaelin saved my sanity! After suffering with unknown, gradually increasing pain in my left arm for years, and then presenting with the same pains (only worse) in my right arm immediately following an auto accident I was a passenger in. Dr Kaelin and I knew surgery was the best option. Although it was no routine surgery, Dr. Kaelin and his staff did everything possible to keep me at ease. With 100% recovery in my left and about 90% on my right I would recommend Dr Kaelin to anyone seeking his services.

Dr. Kaelin is my kind of surgeon. He doesn't mince words. He talks to you like you are an intelligent adult. His skills are top drawer. He has performed an arteriogram and an arterial bypass on me with excellent results. The arteriogram was pain and stress free...the surgery was great. His bedside manner is rather quick (he's a busy man) but good. I want a surgeon, not someone to hold my hand and he fills the bill in spades. He is likable and thorough. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Kaelin is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He has operated on my mother twice and performed angioplasty several times. He explains things in simple terms, identifies the options and pros and cons of each, gives the probability of success and failure, and listens. He is perceptive, warm and caring. His staff are friendly and helpful and his office is easily accessible, clean and well-equipped. The waiting time has been excessive for my mom, but most patients seem to get in with a minimal wait. However, he is well worth the wait!
