List of Ricardo Ayala Md's Reviews
He is a well respected Neurologist. He's been in practice in Tallahassee for many years. This time we only saw the PA because it was just a check-in visit. He's not one for idle chat. More of a" just the facts" type Dr.
I have been seeing Dr. Ricardo Ayala as a patient since I was 15 years old ( I am now 43 years old) and he has always treated both me and my family with dignity and respect. He is not into over medicating the Patient as well as treating the patients diagnoses as an overall health concern by providing them with only necessary lab work or treatments tailored to the best possible outcome for the patient’s condition. This is my personal experience with Tallahassee Neurological Clinic and more specifically Dr. Ricardo Ayala. Layla.
Was rude and condescending and spent a solid amount of appointment time dictating his appt notes into his recorder. I had to interrupt his dictating a few times to say, that’s not why we are here. Was there for my 11 year old. We won’t be back. He also used my 11 year old to redirect the conversation away from addressing my concerns. We left very confused and frustrated. Really wish we had more pediatric options in town. He’s the only one in Tally. Guess we’ll be driving to Jacksonville or Gainesville going forward.
Took my daughter here this morning and I will never step foot in his office again. Tried to prescribe heavy antidepressant for my 13 yr old daughter who has tension headaches and the occasional migraine, after asking zero questions about her mental health or family mental health. He told her that he would have put her on topamax if she were 50 lbs heavier. Who talks to a 13 yr old girl about using off-label antidepressants to lose weight??? For reference she is of completely healthy weight. We just smiled and nodded and left. Anyway, I'll let her speak for herself about what we experienced. She says: This weird dude commented on my weight multiple times and how my cheeks were big because of me clenching my jaw. He also told me I had to go off of my PRESCRIBED headache medicine for 3 weeks even though I am starting school the day after this happened. He was trying to "get to know me" even though all I needed was a solution to my freaking headaches. He tried to prescribe me 3 other medications that would've taken a toll on myself. He made me uncomfortable at times and was saying weird things to me AS A 13 YEAR OLD. DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN IF YOU ARE ABLE TO. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR I BEG OF YOU.
Love Dr. Ayala! He is very straightforward, and tries to be gentle in his approach with the information he is giving. He definitely takes his time and cares. He never made me feel like I was crazy or faking; I visited other doctors who did. Because he took me seriously, he was able to figure out the issue, and get me a diagnoses. I recommend him to anyone needing a neurologist.
Took my husband to see him ONCE. Was not impressed. He ignored everything we said and instead was fixated on everything being in my husband's head (well - chronic migraines, duh!) and instead he was anxious and depressed. Do not waste your time or money on this provider. We went to the Neurologist in Moultrie and got a referral to Mayo where we got answers.
Dr Ayala ok , but his staff is the most rude and unkind people I have ever met , especially his nurse his staff treats you like you bother them won't help you in any way , all they do is scream and holler at you not a good place to be at all but have to do what you can to get help but really wish I could find another doctor that took my insurance really hate going here his nurse Stephanie is a living nightmare the most unkind person I have ever met in my life don't even know why she is in the medical field dealing with patients just like front desk help they act like the patients are bothering them and just hateful as well won't help you in anyway they would rather be on there phones or piled up visiting among themselfs instead of doing there jobs yeah not a good place to be at all
Dr. Ayala has been my grandsons neurologists since 2011. We have always had positive interactions with him. He listens and is very caring. He has saved my grandsons life. BRENDA BILBO
Walked in & he was seated in his office, said absolutely nothing. No greeting to me nor my spouse. First red flag!!! He then asked “why I’m there”?? Like excuse me? Bc I have an appointment & a referral to you, duh? Had pretty much no idea who I was & spent the entirety of the appointment pretty much cutting me off, asking what I WANTED him to do for me & almost saying I shouldn’t be there. 7 years of spinal flare ups with no diagnosis, chiropractic & physical therapist options exercised before seeing him, he’s (neurologist) the last person to turn to. Maybe check for nerve damage, motor faults, anything in your general area?! Very short, kind of a jack*ss too. Perhaps study people that have been on your long awaited schedule for over 2 months & KNOW that we wouldn’t be dealing with you if we/our doctors didn’t think we had to. Really don’t plan on returning, time for this grouch to retire already.
I would have also given this doctor 0 stars if I were allowed. Doesn't listen to my 9 year old or either of his parents. Insists on a false diagnosis.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
