Tommy Swiney's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Swiney is wonderful. I have learned so much from him, whether simple things like better ways to put a point or profound insights into human psychology. I keep encouraging him to write a book mostly because I want to read it but also because I think so many could benefit fron his wisdom.

You want to be constantly over medicated by someone who doesn’t even care about you? This is your guy. Don’t bother if you need any real help, or if you need to talk to someone.

I only gave 1 star because I had to, not because he deserves it. I wouldn't know though, I'm still waiting for a return phone call (I've only called several times and left messages) to schedule an appt and that was about 6-7 MONTHS AGO!! I wouldn't bother trying to get in to see him, apparently it's too much to ask.

Doctor Swinney has always been honest and compassionate. I know I have to have medication for my mental illness. I was born in a family with a long history of mental illness. I could not escape it. He has worked with me with my medication needs. He is a good listener and doesn't rush me during my sessions.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Swiney for over 5 years and I am grateful to have a great doctor who’s compassionate and wants to help his patients achieve stable health. He gives you the tools to help yourself whether it’s his expert medical advice or sometimes a prescription to manage symptoms that may interfere with your recovery/stability. I’d like people to understand that he’s not a “pill pusher” but sometimes for some patients medication IS needed to ensure the safety of the patient or the public. Let’s not forget mental illness stems from chemical imbalances or abnormalities in the brain and to bring back the equilibrium, in most cases, meds are needed. Dr. Swiney is good at diagnosing to help treat your needs. I personally have had a combo of behavior therapy with an option to medicate if I’m in an emergency situation. I’m grateful for the support of this office over the years.

Dr.Swiney is an excellent doctor! There's so much that I want to say but tl;dr I'd highly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Swiney is one of the best doctors I've ever had. He's very knowledgeable, knows how to speak to you and help solve things going on in your life. He's already helped me tremendously with only 3 visits so far. The medication he put me on and our monthly talks have really started to help me actually LIVE LIFE! Highly recommended doctor. Thank you for your services.

In reading some of these reviews, I'm pretty appalled at some of the things beings said. Firstly, I will say that YOU are probably the biggest factor when dealing with your own mental health. You must always be HONEST or there is nothing the doctor can do to help you. And secondly, in my own opinion based upon my experiences over the 10+ years he has treated me, Dr Swiney is a great physician who even makes time to return your calls personally at times. He listens well, and adequately assesses your mental status during office visits. His office doesn't even accept my insurance so my copay is 110$ but still, he has been treating me for such a long time, he is the most familiar with my conditions and how my mind works plus he is a good dr. The only problem I have ever had is sometimes not having the money for my office visits.

Doctor Swiney is the best.
