I went to Dr. Bates years ago, I actually quit my job and moved away due to the tragic misdiagnoses and severe depression. I scheduled appointments often due to stomach pains, not being able to digest food properly, overall digestive issues. I weighed 145lbs. at 5'1 and my diagnoses was I was overweight and acid reflux, never any testing done. After seeing the doctor multiple times asking her to assist with the weigh loss, she told me to do it naturally she doesn't aid in weight loss prescriptions. I became really ill at work and a coworker drove me to my doctor's office CHP Governor square. Dr. Bates was unavailable and I went to see another doctor in the office who saved my life. She did testing (pelvic ultra sound) which found I had a 22'7 mass the size of a baby's head growing inside of me for months. That sent me into immediate surgery causing the surgeons inability to save some of my reproductive organs. Thanks Dr. Bates

Yes, her practice is busy but once she is with you I feel she gives you her all. I like her approach, her knowledge is very good and she is willing to do additional research on your issue. She is willing to suggest or support alternative treatments and has a very common sense approach. I continue to see her after trying several other GPs.

I was less than impressed with her service as a doctor. She kept me waiting for more than one hour once I had been taken to the room, diagnosed my ear/sinus infection, gave me an rx, left the room and on my form was my official diagnosis: obesity. Not once did she talk to me about my weight. Good call, Dr.

Dr. Bates is a very busy doctor. It was extremely difficult to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. I found her staff to be very unfriendly.

Dr. Bates is a very concerned phsyician. I have been going to her for years. I love her. She is thorough and does what is necessary to ensure that you are healthy and will continue to be.

The worst doc I've ever had...and that's saying something. I noticed that my heart murmur had changed. As my previous cardiologist had instructed, I called to set an appointment w. Dr. Bates to discuss it. Office staff refused to set appt. and sent me to ER. Of course that didn't help, so I set a follow up appt with Dr. Bates who actually laughed at me when she entered the room. I was experiencing tachycardia and arrhythmia but was treated like a silly child. Oh, and the nurses are rude! I don't have enough space to expound upon that, but you'll find out soon enough if you are a patient of Dr. Bates.
