I enjoy Dr. Ortiz as he is very attentive and listens well to my needs, however. His nursing staff treat me as if I’m not important. I’ve had to cancel and rschedule my appointments twice, first because of a hurricane and secondly because they wanted to charge me way more than my insurance quotes. Needless to say when I email his nurses I usually get no response and the won’t work with me. Very disappointed in nursing staff.

This office is terrible! My previous neurologist retired, so I was referred to Dr. Ortiz. I haven't had any problems with the actual doctor, but his staff is completely inept. I am out of 2 of my medications. The pharmacies have sent multiple refill requests to his office for over a week and his office still hasn't refilled the prescriptions. This isn't the first time this has happened. Last time I left multiple messages requesting my refills in addition to the pharmacy submitting requests. It took 3 weeks for them to send in the refill. Every other neurologist in my plan in Tallahassee is also part of this same practice. In order to see a different neurologist I'm going to have to go to Gainesville. The drive to Gainesville will be worth it though in order to have a competent neurologist's office. Avoid this place at all costs!

I have been seeing Dr. Ortiz sine 2008 and he is just a doctor who tell I like it is. But he is great professional Dr. Every doctor office or any place of business is not perfect. Money hungry not him for me. Great Doctor.

Two years ago my Mom had been treated here for her MS due to insurance change and Covid she has not been able to return until today. She was mistreated and they only worried about her doing blood work when she needs a MRI stat!!! I'm very disappointed in the change in this office and how my Mom was treated. They have really let us down

I accidentally clicked on the wrong Dr. Ortiz in Tallahassee. The other Dr. Ortiz who is a maxillofacial surgeon gets 5 stars. I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with this one.

He is a serious in his demeanor however I have found him to be caring and available when I needed him most.

This Doctor knew my born issue 25 years ago and saw me and sent me to appropriate people for my needs and always called to find out how I was doing. He is still seeing me and his office people are great.

Yes I would recommend Dr. Winston Ortiz to family and friends. He has been my doctor through numerous neurological situations and always I've experienced him to be attentive and kind, and above all, competent. He gets to the source of problems quickly and his referrals, when needed, are excellent.

I am a caregiver of a 91 year old man with dementia. He was recommended to see Dr. Ortiz for memory issues last year. He had another physician perform the memory test, where they ask the patient questions about something they read earlier during the test and other cognitive tests. My client did not do well on this test at all. The only thing Dr. Ortiz did was prescribe my client Lyrica, which is supposed to help with memory issues and nerve pain (he is diabetic so that was a plus). After taking the Lyrica for approximately 3 months it was time to contact the office for a refill as the pharmacy couldnt get approval from the physician. I have called them so many times I've lost count, only to get a recorded message stating to use patient portal, something I dont have access to... Even his granddaughter, who has access to all of his medical history, can not get through on a phone call and has no luck with the patient portal. Dr. Ortiz and his staff clearly do not care for their patients wellbeing. They do not want it to be easily accessible for their patients at all, they simply want to collect the insurance money and then be left alone it seems.

I was struggling with memory issues as a side effect of a medication that he prescribed me. When the issues worsened I brought it up, unaware of the source, and was dismissed immediately. A quick google search revealed it's an incredibly common side effect. Another medication he prescribed me caused severe nausea, and to combat it prescribed me an antiemetic which turned out to have a common, major interaction with my primary medication and made everything worse. I've really never felt so actively ignored.
