I have been a Chronic Pain sufferer for over 21 years. I have taken every Pain Pill, Patch and Oral pain relievers known to mankind. Over the past 7 years it had gotten to the point where nothing would help the Thoracic Pain I was having. I was recommended to Dr. Vilasuso from a friend. I was very hesitant to even go see him as I did not believe in "Pain Management" doctors, do to the horror stories I have read on the internet. I finally broke down and made an appointment with Dr. Vilasuso about 2 years ago. I took my wife with me as my memory is shot AND this is when my life started changing. He was VERY patient with me as I told him my story. He started me back on my pain meds and mentioned to me that I would be a good candidate for a Spinal Cord Stimulator. The first thing I thought was no way in heck am I having something implanted in me for pain unless it was for a Pain Pump. He was very sure I would get relief. I did my homework on the matter and against my better judgement I decided at this point I had nothing to lose and he could always take it out if it did not work. ON THAT VERY DAY MY LIFE WAS CHANGED FOREVER. I awoke from the surgery with a little pain from the procedure. The first 3 days were difficult from the surgery not the implant. I woke up on day 4 with NO PAIN, I have not had this kind of relief in my life. I still take some pain meds (went from 90mg of Oxycodone and 60 mg of OxyContin to 40mg Oxycodone daily) and I am living a life I never thought I would or could have. I can walk with no pain, I can stand for more than 20 minutes at a time without being in tears. PLEASE: Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Vilasuso ASAP, YOU WILL GET YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE BACK PLEASE: I am living proof that SCS does work. Oh, I also threw my cane in the garbage. I tell everyone I see about him and his excellent "Bedside Manner". He cares about all his patients. He is a blessing to me. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the newest streamline, manegement, teamwork,, efficient & professional services. The staff are still friendly with patients now have time to answer quick questions, take payment and still smile & laugh. Going to pain management is no longer a long dreaded day of waiting.. I have had several appts and nothing, patients are seen faster. Phones lines are answered timely and actually we get transferred to the CORRECT department!
