List of Sumit Sawhney's Reviews
I have a rare blood disorder and lung disease he was understanding and explained my condition to me in terms I could understand. He helped my disease go in remission.
Amazing MD he is very compassionate and caring. He explained my dx in layman's terms. He answered all my questions and made great recommendations.
Dr. Sawhaney has DISAPPOINTED me after 5+years. He refused to refill my life sustaining medication I have been taking since 2017 bcuz I haven't been in since March. I had appt set for Aug 2, 2023 I only see him avg 6-9months. He's overworked, tired, and maybe it's time to take a break. He told me to go to ER for refill. The office is chaos, unorganized. See other reviews. Sad really. He's knowledgeable, but unaccessible. Found new Hematologist at Cleveland Clinic hospital in Weston for August. I will end up in ER with stroke without my meds. Hoping my primary will help or ER as he said. Horrible patient empathy.
Dr. Sawhaney refused to call in my life dependent medication because my last visit was in March 2023. Since March I've been in 2 outpatient surgeries with other medical issues. I explained those to him last visit. I regularly see Dr. Sawhaney every 6-9 months. I realized I was nearly out of blood thinners and called his office. The office made an August 1, 2023 appointment as he's not available any afternoon. The office paged him as I am running out of blood thinners. Dr. Sawhaney was paged while on rounds, probably working since 7am, he told me to go to ER to get my refill. My next appointment was scheduled for August 1st. It's mind-blowing to leave your patient of so many years without the medication prescribed for over 5 years.
I went to Dr Sawhney 22 years ago. Worst Dr I have ever been to in any field. I was fighting breast cancer and gained 40 pounds on tamoxifen. He told me to go get by-pass surgery. Was so relieved ed to get my original oncologist back. Today I am slimmer without by-pass. 22 years cancer free, regardless of his rude personality.
Chaos, confusion and disorganization. Just try to contact them. Appointments cancelled, medication’s unavailable. Outdated office and equipment.
Dr. Sawhney seems knowledgeable and competent. However, is office is not. We have had numerous last minute cancellations for scheduled treatments with always the same excuse of supply issues. When you try calling office most of the time you cannot speak to someone right away. They act “put out” when you try to schedule anything. Say they will contact you to only have to harass them for follow up care.
They don't answer the phone, They can't even call in a prescription.
Dr. Submit was very knowledgeable and took time to answer our questions (which were a LOT)... Despite being told we were dealing with Stage 4 colon cancer, we still left the office hopeful after being enlightened with so much good information. He also participates in clinical trials and spoke to us about one we might qualify, that could be a potential game -changer. I was baffled by how in depth he answered all our questions about random holistic treatments that I didn't expect an oncologist to know. We are still getting a second opinion which I encourage EVERYONE to do when dealing with cancer, because afterall, it's your LIFE, but nonetheless we were very satisfied with Dr Sawhney.
Stay away from here. Impossible to get on the phone and they do NOT care. Dr sawhneys assistant is the absolute worse! She’s so rude and has no sympathy whatsoever. The chemo did not help my grandma it only sped up her death.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
