List of Advanced Surgery Center Of Tampa's Reviews
Had surgery on my left shoulder on Friday, office staff was amazing, very polite and informative, pre op nurses, drs, and all that was involved with my surgery and after care until i went home was absolutely amazing. I had no issues.
Scheduling told us to be here at 5:30 in the morning. Facility wasn't even open nobody was here.As nurses pulled into the drivewayThey were brood before we even got in the buildingSurgery was supposed to be scheduled for 6 a.m. we're told from the gate surgery would not be at 6 a.m.We drove an hour and a half to get to the facility
Very HIGHLY recommend this procedure center! They take very good care of you pre and post up. Kind and a good team. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Clean place. The staff is fantastic and Dr Maxcy is excellent!
I had surgery this morning and I must say after reading some of the reviews I was worrisome. But I am hear to tell you that I had the most pleasant and professional experience. My pre-op call was last Wednesday and they asked all the questions needed so that on the morning of the procedure, there would be no delay. The nurse was very thorough. He told me I would get a call with a time for surgery on Friday between 2 and 5 and I got the call at 2:15. Today the staff was wonderful, my nurse (Damian) walked me through every step that he was doing and double and triple checked every detail with me. Every person that stopped by my curtain greeted me - even when I wasn't the right patient. I heard the nurses talking with other patients and they were all equally as pleasant. My blood pressure was low so there were multiple nurses taking turns watching the monitor in recovery. I needed help getting dressed and a female nurse came over to help, she was very careful since I was extremely limited with mobility and my pain was not quite under control.
I stopped by the front desk to let them know what an excellent staff they have at this location. I thought I would call the management to tell them and saw the Google Review link so here is my review. We have been to ASCT several times over the past 3 years and that staff has been awesome on every visit. The front desk, scheduling, nurses, everyone there is friendly, professional, and truly demonstrates caring. This is our surgery center of choice and I would recommend them without reservations to anyone.
I had a SI Joint Block done here a little over two months ago and had a pretty negative experience. The nurse who took care of me the entire time was very nice and this has nothing to do with him, but rather the scheduler and nurse I spoke with on the phone the night before giving me instructions. The woman giving me instructions NEVER told me that I was going under anesthesia, therefore, never told me I couldn't eat or drink after midnight. This is kind of pertinent information the patient should be privy to before she gets checked in. Not only did I have coffee that morning, but also ate. They still did the anesthesia on me anyway. The doctor doing the procedure was over 1.5 hours late. And the woman at the front check in counter was BEYOND rude. I wish I had her name. I would not recommend coming here as they clearly do not give you all of the information you need before your procedure.
I was supposed to be a patient today. I was told on Friday at 4pm, that I had a 9am appointment on the following Monday morning, that I should wear loose clothing and I can’t eat or drink anything (to include water) after midnight. I arrived at 8:45 and checked in. At 9:30, I asked the check-in desk clerks, how much longer I have to wait. I was told “they will take you back as soon as they can.” At 10 am, I was finally taken into the back where the prep you for surgery. As the nurse and I were walking back, she gave me an attitude and started complaining that I was wearing my wedding band and watch. She stated that I was told not to wear jewelry or a watch. I told her that I was never told this information but to make sure I only wore loose clothing. As the nurse started to do the IV, she started complaining to me that I was dehydrated, and she couldn’t get a vein. Considering I hadn’t drunk anything all morning, that’s not surprising. It took the nurse over 5 minutes to finally stick my vein for the IV. The staff completely ignored me for the next 2 hrs. I attempted several times to get the staff’s attention and finally succeed after like 10 minutes. At noon, I asked them how much longer it was going to be because I had a migraine headache due to not eating or drinking anything for the last 18 hrs. The nurse told me she has no idea how long it will be, and she didn’t know where I was at on the list. At this point, I was done. I told them I wanted the IV out and I was leaving. They started to argue with me and stating that I could go at any second. At this point, I didn’t care anymore. I was getting sick to my stomach and my migraine was getting worse, due to a lack of food and water. The nurse was trying to refuse to let me go and take out the IV. I had enough at this point. I told the nurse “take out the IV or I will.” After I got dressed, the nurse gave me an attitude the entire time while she was escorting me to the door. The staff here are unprofessional and didn’t care about the patients under their care. I felt like I was just a cash cow for them. They would do as little as necessary to get me into surgery and no more. No one ever checked on me for over 2 hours. They only cared when I told them I was done, and I was leaving before the procedure. I can’t recommend this surgery center to anyone.
My experience was excellent. I was asked to be at the center at noon and had no wait to get things started. The staff was knowledgeable, personable, and caring. The facility was very clean, as you would expect for a surgery center. The anesthesiologists was great. The general anesthesia worked very well as I don’t remember a thing. The preoperative nurse, Sarah, did everything right. My gown was stylish and even closed in the back, bonus for the staff as I walked around. They have the most comfortable party socks with special grip on the bottom. My wife told me the postoperative nurse put up with all of my post-general anesthesia jokes that I do not remember.I highly recommend this center for its convenience, great staff, and cleanliness, and reasonable cost.
Horrible experience. I'm not even the patient, but the person driving a patient. Scheduling is a nightmare- they provided an appointment date and stated that they would not have a time until the day of the appointment. So I'm supposed to be on call for a 30 min procedure? You can't tell me a time and ask me to call back multiple times to confirm? This is unprofessional.Whomever runs the office needs to reform their scheduling and practices. I will not recommend anyone to this office.
Arrived for surgery, stuck in a storage room instead of a waiting pod like everyone else. Very disappointed

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
