Anh Nguyen's Online Review Report Card

Pros: Professional, competent, and friendly staff. Efficient with diagnostics for vision surgery. Dr. Nguyen is versed on international surgical standards and Asian eyes. Cons: Street parking only.

After quite a bit of research, I visited Dr. Nguyen to look into problems I was having with my eyes, which was cataracts. I've wore glasses and contacts as long as I can remember, and couldn't figure out why I was having issues all of a sudden. When I first went to My Eye Doctor to find out why my vision was blurred, they couldn't really figure it out. Thankfully Dr. Nguyen diagnosed the issue immediately. Since I'm younger (mid 40s) to have cataracts, I was certainly concerned with making the right decision to make a correction. Dr. Nguyen was extremely helpful in educating me and informing me of all my options when it comes to cataract surgery and all the different options for new lenses (IOLs). Of course I researched by reading several articles, watching videos, and reviewing tons of marketing by the different companies. I probably wasted a lot of time with all of that as ultimately, I found that I just needed to put my trust in Dr. Nguyen. She is up to date with all the new technologies, and is certainly well respected in the ophthalmology community. I really appreciate all the time she spent with me making sure I understood all of the benefits, side effects, and costs of all the different options when it comes to cataract surgery. Eventually, I opted to have a multi-focal lens implanted so that I wouldn't be dependent on wearing glasses as it helps you with seeing at a distance, intermediate, and reading. I didn't like the idea of seeing halos at night when driving, but Dr. Nguyen explained how there is no perfect lens, that will compare to the capabilities of our natural lenses. I struggled with making the decision, but know that she helped me make the best decision. I had my first surgery on my right eye at the end of 2020, and then a second surgery on my left eye in April of 2022 (after the cataract in my left eye eventually progressed). Everyone at her office was also VERY HELPFUL and kind with scheduling and answering all my questions, especially Nikki! Shortly after the first surgery I probably overreacted to some normal side effects, and thought maybe I had a retina detachment after watching You-Tube videos about it. She came in to her office on her day off, and had a retina specialist also come in to make sure I was ok. They were able to put my concerns at east and confirm I was ok. I really appreciated that. Even though cataract surgery is very common, I was still nervous about it. Both surgeries was well, and I was pleased to hear Dr. Nguyen say it was "text book" right after she finished. In talking with one of the nurses as I was wheeled out to our car, she commented on how if she were to pick an eye surgeon she would definitely work with Dr. Nguyen; and she sees all the local doctors there at the surgical center. That just helped reaffirm I had made the right decision. Now I can see great out of both eyes and no longer need to wear contacts or glasses, which is awesome!

Dr. Nguyen's office was understanding about our challenges with aging and was able to diagnose conditions and astigmatism we have been dealing with for years, but which the optometrists missed.

Every visit to Anh Nguyen Ophthalmology is quick and painless. This is my go-to off for my annual eye exam! The staff who work here are incredibly friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new ophthalmologist with great customer service and satisfaction. Side street parking is also super easy and free up to two hours.

Dr. Nguyen and her team were absolutely fantastic in getting me ready for and preforming my LASIK surgery. The office itself is quite nice and her team made me feel extremely confortable during the consultation, even suggesting ways to alleviate possible dry eye after the LASIK procedure. I had several consultations in the DC area and Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Patel, Nikki and the rest of the team were by far the best option for me and competitive in cost. During the consultation, I met Dr. Nguyen who preformed the surgery. She and her team explained everything I needed to know and answered all of my many questions about the day of surgery and the recovery process. They also gave a helpful booklet with info on the procedure. During the surgery, they kept me updated on each step during the surgery which was calming and reassuring. The actual surgery took less than 15 minutes. Two weeks after surgery I'm 20/10 with no dry eye or post surgery issues. I would highly recommend this office for LASIK!

I recently had LASIK eye surgery and Dr. Nguyen has been great from start to finish. I was quite nervous about the procedure and she took extra time and effort to make sure I was at ease. There were no high pressure tactics and I felt like she was really trying to do the best for me to make it a good experience. She and her staff are patient, understanding and are very responsive when there are any questions. My healing time has taken a bit longer than anticipated but overall the procedure was quick, fairly painless and my vision now is 20 / 15.

My mother underwent laser cataract surgery with Dr Anh for both her eyes and did lens replacement with multifocal lens. Before surgery she was almost blind. Everything was blurry and the world was getting darker. Dr Anh's flawless technique yielded phenomenal results and super minimal pain and swelling. My mother can read tiny print now as well as being able to see well at both far and intermediate distances without need for any eyeglasses or contact lenses. Mom is super excited because now she can really see her beautiful grandchildren. We highly recommend Dr Anh without reservation. She and her support staff are kind, caring and professional. She works out of a very tastefully designed and appointed office in Falls Church, VA. Her staff does an awesome job with scheduling appointments and you rarely ever have to wait more than a few minutes. I am told many of Dr Anh's patients are physicians themselves. That should tell you something.

Eye stuff makes me nervous - perhaps because I've been fortunate enough to have good eyesight so any change or anyone messing with my eyes is a little out of my comfort zone. But Dr. Nguyen takes time, answers all your questions (even the dumb ones I was throwing), and is really thoughtful. No pressure to upsell me to anything - what I needed is available cheap on Amazon and she said do that rather than try to get me into some product. Her staff is awesome, friendly and professional, they put you at ease. Easy office to get to right on first floor, ample street parking. Great experience.

I was referred to Dr. Nguyen in November 2018 for severe chemical burns to my eyes. My right eye was so severely burned, I thought I would never see out of it again. From the moment I came through door, Dr. Nguyen made me feel that I had come to the right place. She immediately developed an intensive treatment plan to first heal the eye and then to restore my vision. It has been more than 9 months since my accident, and my vision in my left eye is completely restored. And the vision in my right eye is almost completely restored, and continues to get better every day thanks to the treatment from Dr. Nguyen. I am so grateful I was referred to Dr. Nguyen, and that she was willing to take on my my difficult case.
