List of Brody L Henkel's Reviews
I have been undergoing treatment for migraines for years which I received in my prior state of residence. I recently relocated to Tampa and Dr. Henkel was on the list of recommended neurologists. His staff was able to schedule an appointment for me quickly--the staff were professional, courteous and very efficient. Dr. Henkel is extremely knowledgeable about the various treatments/therapies for migraines (many different options for patients); he is professional, skilled at procedures/injections, is sociable and accommodating. My transition of care from my prior neurologist was seamless-- I am so pleased to have been able to establish my care with Dr. Henkel!
DON’T GO HERE! RUN AWAY! I can’t put enough emphasis on “Don’t”, Dr. Henkel (at this point I am unsure if he is even a Neurologist) is the WORST Neurologist you can go to. I had EMG scheduled here before my wrist surgery to determine possible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. A nurse did half the test (with electrodes) and he entered the exam room for literally 3 minutes to do the other test with needles. First, he did not even inform me what the test was, what should I expect, any possible complications or what I should do in case something goes wrong. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! All he said was “Hi, how are you?” and “Have a good day”. He started doing the test without giving me time or opportunity to ask any questions. After the test, when I started to ask him about the test and its aftermath, HE LEFT the room. The nurse then told me that my surgeon will receive the results and explain it to me. Seriously? Why consult a Neurologist if my surgeon has to do Neurologist’s part, too? Within an hour of the test, one of the site where he poked with a needle had swelling. I had no idea if it was normal or something went wrong. I had to search Google to know that this was normal. But now, after more than a week, the site still pains so I will have to consult another Neurologist for a problem THIS SO-CALLED Neurologist, Dr. Henkel, gave me.
Dr. Henkle has been treating my migraines for almost 10 years. His office is friendly and professional. He is accessible in between visits for questions and refills.
RUN! Was forced to have him as a dr after a stroke. Only reason I stuck with him is the next dr that Wc was going to send me to was 3 hours away. I understand that is man might not be like this to regular patients, but I have seen many WC patients and family storm out of his office. One example was a woman's husband had a concussion and he had no idea where he was, the doctor said no family in the room, just the patient. This is dangerous because this man has discussed/not discussed things with me and witnesses, and then wrote another in my chart. So be careful as he is not truthful and changes the office notes to reflect him on the good side. My first visit he was rather full of himself. He never once understood that my stroke was on the left side of the brain and often stated my stroke was elsewhere. Therefore he never understood that my symptoms were textbook of the location. I have walking, memory, speech issues, and more. I am forced to walk with a walker as I fall numerous times a day. That is acceptable to this man and instead of attempting to send me to PT to strengthen my legs and arms, he says "You are great and ready to go!" I was in PT for 3 months and once out, I rapidly declined. I black out randomly, fall more, drop things, I can't even spell my name most days. Plus the headaches are bad. His response was pills and when I would have a bad reaction to them he spent 5 min pulling up the FDA page on that drug and go over that page with me for 10 min. I didn't care, sorry that one of the meds caused worse headaches and hallucinations. Then he got mad that I wouldn't take a medication that I am very allergic to. My psychi test stated I was already over the edge which was "great" in his eyes. This man is allowing me to drive knowing I black out randomly, can't move either of my legs well, have issues with location or direction, and more. I have already reported him to the board and encourage all others that have had similar issues to do the same. My health rapidly declined because of this man who couldn't even read his patient's chart. So happy he isn't my doctor anymore and I can see another doctor to heal.

After seeing my neurologist today for my nerve pain and balance issues, I was tested for about 2 hours. The results were far greater than Dr. Hinkle mentioned to me. He does not care about his patient's and goes through the motions. I am glad I found another neurologist for treatment.
This office runs like a well oiled machine! The staff is very nice and Dr Henkle is really a great doctor with a great personality. He listens to you, and helps you no matter the issue you bring to his attention. I have been to several neurologist and he’s the best! Very happy to have him as my doctor.
I was injured 8/30/2019 at work. Visited him with severe neck pain. He did some test in the office & sent me for cat scan. My next appointment he came into the exam room and announced well I have great news, you have no brain bleeds and no lesions. I respond with that is wonderful news. But what about my neck. So called Dr. Responded I told you there is nothing wrong with your neck You do know how old you are don't you. 4 months later I finally got an exray followed by mri & cat scan confirming that I had 3 herniated disks. 3 weeks later had cervical spinal fusion. Sorry excuse for a Dr.
1 star isn’t low enough. stay far away

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
