I had my parathyroid surgery by Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz on June 28, 2023, 2 glands were removed. Dr. Politz and his staff are outstanding. From my very 1st contact they were very professional and friendly. My first contact with Dr. Lopez was via a video consultation. I had to start the call off by telling him how outstanding contact with his staff had been. Dr. Lopez thanked me for the feedback then went on the thoroughly explain the procedure; what to expect, and answered all of my questions. I had the same experience with the staff in person as over the phone. These people are just awesome! On the day of the surgery Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz both took the time to introduce themselves to me prior to me being prepped for surgery. That evening after the surgery I received a call at home from Dr. Lopez to check on me, make sure everything was OK. He had said he would call, but the fact that he actually did was amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz

Re: The Staff ,all personnel was on the top of their game. Dr Politz not only excellent preparing me for the parathyroid problem but also located another nodule on my thyroid. Both were removed and tested. Neither showed any malignancy. Dr Politz to his credit , made himself openly available throughout my procedure.

Dr. Politz explained in detail, yet in a manner that could be understood, the reasons for the surgery and the methods that would be used. He is personable and well spoken. His office staff is over the top friendly and welcoming as well. Dr. Politz and his staff takes the fear out of surgery. I was given detailed instructions on what to do post op. I have followed them exactly and haven't had any problems. Dr. Politz called the night after the surgery to check on me. He even gives out his cell phone number for patients to call if they have additional questions. I wish there were more doctors like him. I feel blessed to have been under his care.

I have been practicing Internal Medicine in the Tampa Bay area for 25 years and have gotten to know many colleagues in the area as well as identify those who provide superior patient care. When I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, there was only one provider that I wanted to take care of me--Dr Politz. His calm demeanor, professionalism, thorough explanation of my condition and treatment approach reassured me of my decision. My surgery went well as planned and my post operative recovery has also gone well. Communication with his staff was excellent, including explanation of financial obligations, post op tips, etc.. Dr. Politz was very informative in helping us make the decision to remove my thyroid. Dr. Politz met with me and my family prior to surgery in Pre Op and also in Post Op. He also called personally that evening to check on me. I didn't feel like talking so I handed the phone to my husband. He then told my husband that he wanted to speak with me so he could hear my voice. He had to remove lymph nodes that were next to my vocal cords and he wanted to make sure I was doing ok. I am two weeks out of surgery and doing well. My voice is weak at times so I am giving it time to heal. Also the office staff and nurses are wonderful. You actually speak to a nice person when you call and have questions. Thank you again for taking care of me. I would highly recommend Dr. Politz and Dr. Lopez and their staff.

I was so impressed with not only Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz, but the entire staff at TGH Parathyroid Institute in Brandon, from the very professional and helpful receptionist, the Nurses (10) that took care of me, the site and the hands on care that I received is the best ever!!! I was never left alone, and everything went on without a hitch. Like a fine oiled machine!! I definitely recommend these providers and this site. Thank you so much for providing the best care!!

It’s true I came from CT. Like many, I had never heard of a parathyroid, or that it could lead to so many health issues .At the direction,and diagnosis from my ENT Dr. in New York, he stated and advised if I “want the best, and most experienced parathyroid surgeon, you must go to Dr. Politz at TGH!” Next ,we set up a teleconference call in May. I knew by Dr. Politz’s approach, and by him confirming all my labs- he was what I was looking for! Dr. Politz was definitely the one for this surgery . (I loved that his dog was sleeping on the couch behind him, during our teleconference call)- I found Dr.Politz to be very kind ,gentle and funny . It is now a few weeks from the day of my surgery, and I feel amazing !This procedure to me, was easier than giving birth, and/or root canal! Anesthesia,and team of nurses all amazing. Recovery was very smooth. It’s my pleasure to now educate others on parathyroid,and the recommendation Dr. Politz should perform this surgery! Thank you all ????
