Geoffrey M Kwitko's Online Review Report Card

We feel very fortunate that my husband was able to be seen by Dr. Kwitko on an emergency basis and Dr. Kwitko was able to fit him in next morning before his day started in Operating room for emergency surgery. Surgery was absolute success, he did an exceptional job. We are very grateful and could not have hoped for better outcome. Many thanks to Dr. Kwitko and many thanks to his staff, especially to Diane, who was very supportive and guided us through everything.

Dr. Kwitko is a wonderful surgeon, and the staff was always helpful and kind. He is very experienced and I was very happy with my results. I highly recommend becoming his patient, you won't find better!

My son is a new patient of Dr. Kwitko's and had surgery a week ago. Everything went well with the surgery but late Saturday night he started having complications from a medicine. Dr. Kwitko was excellent addressing the problem, meeting us late Saturday night and Sunday morning to examine him and talking to us on the phone whenever we have had questions to ensure he is okay. We would highly recommend Dr Kwitko and his staff.

First, I am a physician and my wife was the patient. In my opinion, Geoff is a narcissist and his treatment of my wife, another physician, was shameful. I thought that perhaps he had a bad day but when mentioned to our general ophthalmologist, unfortunately after the fact, we learned that he is well known for his terrible attitude and manner. I also question his insistence that we schedule a return visit in six months after telling us that nothing was wrong and us informing him that we would definitely be out of country at the time. Despite then cancelling in advance as we told him we would have to we arrived home months later to a discharge from practice letter. Thank you! It's the nicest thing that you did for us. One might be concerned that he is trying to generate income instead of taking care of the patient. One should also question his responses to other patients' complaints. Some of them appear to me to be HIPAA violations and others not-so-veiled threats or manipulations. Also, I see several claims of 99% patient satisfaction, but for only 280+ reviews he's got quite a lot of one-stars (11 as of this writing) which doesn't correlate to his claims. I see that his reply to someone else is playing word games about billing. The patient claimed that essentially he charged $800 and Geoff says that his allowable was less than half and the patient only paid $25. The allowable refers to a contractual amount with the insurance company, but I would bet that he charged $800 whether or not he got it. He charged us $650 because he didn't have a contract with our insurance. That's extremely pricey. The thing is that he's a sub-subspecialist. That doesn't make him smarter, it doesn't make him better, it only makes him more specialized. It certainly doesn't give him license to be rude or disrespectful. My belief is that he survives because of the inconvenience of finding another sub-subspecialist in the field, but given this option in the future I would travel as far as necessary to avoid him. As I am writing this on a Saturday night he had the nerve to use his privileged access to my wife's chart to call MY cell phone to "make it right". I assume most people cave and adjust or delete their reviews but I'm proud to stand up for myself against this intimidation. It's absolutely not right to use confidential information in this way and I have also just filed a complaint with the Florida Board of Medicine because of it.

I have worked as a nurse with Dr. Kwitko for many years. He provides excellent care to his patients and his surgical skills and results are second to none!

Dr Kwitko is by far the best oculoplastic surgeon in the Tampa Bay area! I recommend all my family and friends to him, and all are 100% satisfied with his quality of work and care. A++

As a nurse we are very choosy in the physicians we use for ourselves or family members. I have work with Dr. Kwitko for years and consider him one of the best ocular surgeons anyone could choose to do their surgery. His work is top of the line. Whether you need cosmetic eye surgery, Ptosis repairs or eye cancers you will be please with your results.

I have worked with Dr. Kwitko for the last 7 years and have been in the industry for 17 years. He is very professional and is the best by far! I would highly recommend him, even to my own family members!

Dr. Kwitto has been looking at my eye since 2021 for eye dries and eye lids. He ordered labs for possibly thyroid, welp it came back elevated thyroid antibodies. For my dry eye he did puctual occlusion and it help drastically. Just recently I had upper and lower eye lids done and did a marvelous work. I look younger and feel better of myself. He is an exceptional oculoplastic surgeon. His staff are friendly and efficient. Thank you and your staff for all the great work
