List of John Carter's Reviews
Dr. John Carter is a gem! He is current (reads and applies the latest in research and outcomes); he listens well and responds to your questions and comments. If you are fortunate enough to be one of his patients, I believe you are in good hands!
Amazing experience. I was totally a part of the conversation versus being talked at. Dr. Carter, his fellow and intern were all very professional and truly cared.
Simply the best.

i called to make a first visit appt and was told no appts until OCTOBER!!!! OMG that is beyond crazy..so I am gonna give them a big fat zero review!!!!
My Family Dr recommended Dr Carter because I had a positive ANA. I was seen by Dr Carter on November 13th. At that time he felt that I didnt show any Lupus traits but to be on the safe side blood work and urine was ordered for me. I notice when my blood work came back I had 3 positive. My urine test were canceled. I contacted Dr Carter office to try and get a followup for clarification of my test. No one assisted me. I was told that his nurse Nurse Carter had walked out. Someone from the clinic ended up calling me Nov 20th and told me that Dr Carter told them to tell me he definitively could not say I had lupus but to get my eyes exam and she told me about a medicine. The person never mentioned about my cancel Urine test, which is a part of diagnosing Lupus. I told her that I needed to speak to Dr Carter because I needed for him to go over my test results. I was even willing to make a followup, which they didnt do. She told me that she'd send me something in the mail. It is Dec 11th and Dr Carter hasn't even bother contacting me on Mychart, email. Phone call nothing. Lupus is not the flu or cold this is serious to one life. The fact that Dr Carter could be so nonchalant about this is unacceptable. I have never been treated like this by any physician. I dont know if it was because I was seen at his 40th street location or what but I definitely would not recommend Dr Carter to anyone. I have contacted USF to file a formal complaint. I was told that the TGH clinic would contact me. Why would I want to have my insurance that I work for be given to this noncompassionate doctor. It wasnt the clinic fault for the lack of communication. Its Dr Carter fault. I now have to start this process over,. I would not want anyone to go through this. I have never left a bad review on any of my physicians but Dr Carter deserves this. I would not have given him any stars but had to select one to be able to leave my review.
I’m kind of a challenge for him to say the least. He’s not once left me worrying or wondering. He never makes me feel like I’m in this alone. He’s not ever given up on me. He is funny, and comforting, and brilliant. He is also human. If he’s perplexed, he will tell you. You can see him thinking of solutions during your visit. He makes time for you. This is so rare of any doctor because in today’s medical world it’s all about money and efficiency. He’s in the business to be a doctor not a doctor who is doing business. I love him. I love the staff at USF. I love that he’s a family man, and a researcher. I love that he’s a professor. I love that his patients mean something, and I’m so grateful for him. I could never ever thank him enough.

I have been seeing Dr. Carter as my rheumatologist for over 10 years now and highly recommend his friendly, compassionate and superb knowledge to anyone who would need to see a rheumatologist. He is amazing as a person and a doctor.
Dr. Carter is one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure to know. He's knowledgeable, experienced and very caring. He takes time with his patients, and I always feel like he "gets" me. He also has a great sense of humor which translates to a great bedside manner. I have recommended him to several friends who have needed a rheumatologist and will do so again should the need arise.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
