John Kiluk's Online Review Report Card

My wife was referred to Dr Kiluk after the devastating news that she had breast cancer and we are extremely thankful he was able to walk us through the process not only as a great surgeon but as a great, caring human being that took the time to help us deal with our adversity providing us with encouragement and actually successfully convincing my wife that it was not the end for her and he would be there alongside of us in this fight for her life and we’re forever thankful.

There are not enough words to convey how truly fortunate I felt to have had Dr. Kiluk as my surgeon. A diagnosis of breast cancer is frightening. But Dr. Kiluk explained everything in terms I could understand. By so doing, he put me as much at ease as I could be considering what I was dealing with. Whenever I met with him, I never felt rushed. He answered all my questions. He was an amazing surgeon, compassionate and professional. I found him to be one of the finest physicians I have ever encountered. He truly cares about his patients. Dr. Kiluk's entire team was wonderful and everyone I met at Moffitt worked together to make my experience as positive as it could be. When I met with him to review the pathology report, a few weeks after surgery, what he said to me will always be in my thoughts. I said, "Thank you, Dr. Kiluk, for saving my life." He replied, "Don't thank me. It was the mammogram that saved your life." It may have been the mammogram that found the cancer, but it was his skill and expertise that successfully removed it. Thank you, Dr. Kiluk.

I decided to go to Moffitt in 2011 when diagnosed at 34 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The scheduler told my husband that we would love Dr. Kiluk and she was so very correct. The moment he met me, he walked into the room, walked straight past my family that came to support me and hugged me. He spent as much time as I needed to explain everything. He is truly compassionate in a way that you don't see in any profession. Even before one of my surgeries that he was performing, as I was in the operating room, on the table with the anesthesiologist about to administer the medicine, Dr. Kiluk came in the room and held my hand and brushed my cheek with his other hand as I drifted off and he told me not to worry. He is THE BEST and even though I no longer live in the area, I would try my hardest to get back to Tampa if I ever had a recurrence.

I recently had an operation that was long overdue. Dr. Kiluk and his nurse Jayne were caring and answered any questions I had . Dr. Kiluk got back to me right away regarding my test results and answered any messages in a timely manner regarding my health. He is a caring and effective doctor. He reminds me of the caring doctors of old. There should be more doctors like him.

Dr Kiluk was very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him for anyone in need of breast surgery.

From the moment I met Dr. Kiluk, I was impressed with his sincere concern, his knowledge and his overall kind and gentle honesty. Before my surgery he was there in the room reassuring me, after the surgery he was there several times throughout the day to answer questions and, again, reassuring me and my family. Amazing care and concern. Very well educated with breast oncology for my wife as she underwent a double mastectomy. So informative and just the most positive outlook, we've received from any Dr thus far. We are from Chicago and have not a single regret for our travel and expenses. Would highly recommend Dr Kiluk to anyone traveling from afar!He is just that feel good, "Good Vibes" kind of Dr that all cancer patients need!

Unbelievable physician!! As a medical malpractice attorney, it would be an understatement to say that choosing the right physician for my own breast cancer surgery was paramount. However, I knew within minutes that Dr. Kiluk was the perfect choice. In my first meeting, he greeted me with a hug and clear compassion for my recent diagnosis. Dr. Kiluk next made sure that I understood the medicine in order for me to evaluate my options. He started with "I am not sure how much you know about breast cancer but I still want you to hear my breast cancer 101" wherein he proceeded to take out paper and pen to begin his class. While I already knew the medicine, it was impressive to see a physician take the necessary time to educate patients in order to make the proper decisions. He clearly knew that merely telling patients without an accompanying visual aid for explanation means a less likelihood of retention and understanding. He spent approximately an hour with me in our first visit addressing my concerns along with my family's. During which time he exhibited a clear concern that we all understood my cancer treatment options and suggested plan of treatment. It was this coupled with his clear genuine compassion that solidified Dr. Kiluk as my choice in surgeon. At the end of our meeting, Dr. Kiluk gave me his email and encouraged me to send him any questions or concerns.The following day (Saturday) I did, in fact, email him some follow up questions regarding my choice in a plastic surgeon. While I clearly did not expect a response on a Saturday, he promptly responded. Then unprompted the following Monday, he called me to follow up to make sure that I did not have any other questions and to ensure that I was completely comfortable the surgical team (the accompanying plastic surgeon necessary for my first surgery). In fact, he later encouraged me to stop by (no appointment necessary) after I met with the plastic surgeon so that he could speak with me again to make sure that I felt comfortable in my decision, which I did. Again, he greeted me with a hug, addressed my issues which left me fully reassured about my surgical team.This would not be the last time that he offered (and I accepted) a quick meeting time to address my concerns. After surgery revealed a more progressed stage of cancer and the need for more testing to assess metastasis, Dr. Kiluk made time at the end of his day following my scan in order to share the results immediately with me.He is an amazing physician who clearly stands out among so many others who really do not take the time to educate their patients or show the care that patients so desperately need, especially those with cancer.A breast cancer diagnosis is traumatizing enough for patients so it was such a relief to have a surgeon who was comforting and compassionate. The other benefit to having such a wonderful physician is that I feltconfident that he will recommend the best team of physicians for treatment.I felt throughout our time together that he treated me as he would treat his own family. I cannot say enough about Dr. Kiluk as a physician and a person. I only wish there were more physicians with the same level of care and dedication to their practice.

Dr. Kiluk is thee best dr. I have ever had!!! He is very professional and has awesome bedside manners! And at the same time cares genuinely for all his patients. He definitely deserves more than 5 stars!!!I underwent a double masectomy 12 years ago and I couldnt have ask for a better dr!Thank you!!!!!
