He is amazing and his support team are super stars. I thank god the day he became my Dr!! I can breathe with my new double lungs and I am eternally grateful!

Dr. Patel is the leader for Advanced Lung Disease & Transplant Center at Tampa General Hospital. This position requires someone with the ability to make tough decisions while keeping his team and patients focused on the goal of a successful transplant. There can be not better person for this job then Dr. Patel. The entire process is more complicated than you know. Yes there are people who do not make it to the list and a I was one on the cusp of not being listed and that is why there is a board of people looking at all test results and not one person. From our first meeting a full year and 3 months before my transplant until this day his concern and decisions have been spot on. I have told him in no uncertain terms he is the greatest coach (other than my father) that I have been associated with. That is what he is to me. You cannot go to a better facility under a better leader.

Dr. Kapilkumar Patel reminds me of a great Superbowl Football Manager He’s confident that his players can get great results, regardless of how bad things get. He puts confidence in his Patients and their families for the very best outcomes. He constantly monitors your performance – and pushes you to give your very best, resulting in a positive win for all! This Doctor is nonstop. He is constantly on the sidelines of the Hospital offering advice, support, coaching skills, and a shoulder to lean on. He comes with such a dedicated team of professionals that respect and follow him. He practices open communication, so you know right up front what he expects – I personally love that. I can tell you – He will walk the walk with you. If you want to be a winner, go with the very best. My husband and I are proud and honored to call him our Doctor.

Worst pulmonologist doctor I've ever met in my entire life! Doesn't even know what day it is let alone how to do a lung transplant he has a partner of Doctor Who says one thing and he says another. They were ready put me in to pulmonary rehab for 2 weeks impatient then they found out I had a little eye problem so we can't we are canceling it and now they say I'm not a candidate. One person says one thing and the other person said another is that what you want to do when you getting a transplant ??!! I don't think so this guy needs to go back to where you came from these terrible just go ahead and look at the other reviews!!!Just because I have eye problems I'm not a candidate for someone transplant has nothing to do with the warrants now the sky is terrible! And her assistant his assistant Lisa is the most rudest person I've ever min my entire life. I will not go there no women should go there go to UF or Mayo. they treat you like gold!! And with respect the most important thing.

Best Doctor ever, saved my life... Very professional, tells you like it is, 10 stars all day

Dr. Patel has saved my life and I am forever grateful to be treated by him and his staff at TGH. He has been absolutely amazing and inimitable. If you have been treated by him you know you are in the presence of genius. He has assembled a team of experts, including nurses, pharmacists, and physical therapists, and worked closely with me to prepare me for transplant including educating me about what to expect before, during, and, after surgery. He is patient and always ready to answer all of my questions and concerns. I am confident my continued treatment with him will have a huge impact on my long-term post transplant success. I feel he has high expectations from his patients and staff and I appreciate his straightforward candor. He is brilliant and the absolute best! I owe him a debt I can never repay! I would recommend him to anybody who needs a pulmonary specialist.

I have 14 specialists treating me for a rare and complicated disease that is destroying my entire body. Dr. Patel is not interested in wasting time, nor is he quick to prescribe dangerous meds. He demands the best from his team as well. They will work with you to make sure you get tests, appointments and insurance authorizations quickly! He wants to improve quality of life as well as help you live as long as possible. He will work with other specialists and get things done! He doesn’t pretend to know everything (although I do think he’s the most knowledgeable doctors), so he will call other specialists and do research to give you the best care. He has saved my life numerous times and has personally come to the hospital on his day off to make sure I got the proper care in the ICU. I trust him and his staff fully- which is saying a lot considering I’m a full time patient with many doctors.

Dr Patel is one GREAT Dr who cares about his patients and gets them motivated for transplant . I would have never made it through to where Iam today with out all his help and motivation. His bed side manner is the best of any Dr I have ever met . I would not be here today if it wasn’t for him and that’s a fact he is the BEST !!

Dr. Patel is always knowledgeable about my case; has offered the best treatment opportunities; explains issues well. I feel fortunate to have had him treating me.
