I called the office spoke to Katie advised herIi had lung cancer scheduled for surgery Aug.1. I wanted an appointment to see if I was a candidate for robotic surgery. The first appointment was Aug. 2, I said to make it and I need to think. Katie response was it takes 20 minutes to make a new patient chart and I can't just make an since she didn't want to be bothed. I told her to firget it. Attitude really bothered me. appointment.

I just want to express a heartfelt thank you for a successful surgery. I knew I was apprehensive initially, but Dr. Sommers thoroughly explained the entire process. I am now happy and able to do the things I could not do before. I will recommend him for being an excellent Doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Sommers by my Oncologist for a suspicious area in one lung. He operated on my robotically and the whole process could not have been smoother. I was out of the hospital 3 days after the surgery with virtually no lingering effects. He is a consummate surgeon and I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone requiring lung surgery.

If I could give these Doctors a higher score, I would! I have Cancer that has spread from my lung to my Lymph Nodes. My Lung Doctor referred me here. It was decided that Dr Daniels would operate on me, and the operation went smooth. It was performed using the DaVinci Robot. I was sent to intensive care at Tampa General to recover, after the operation. I was treated like Royalty at Tampa General! Dr Sommers Nurse Practicioner Celeste worked at Tampa General for years, so all the Nurses know and love her! Every person in Dr Sommers office, especially Kaylee Walter, the Physicians Assistant, has kept a good eye on my recovery, and has done her best to keep me pain free. And Megan in the office is like my Mom! She has called repeatedly to check up on my progress, and to be sure I was taking my antibiotics. I can not recommend Dr Sommers and his team enough! Oh, and guess what ? Dr Sommers, Celeste, and Dr Daniels were making their rounds at Tampa General when I was recovering after the surgery. Even though Dr Sommers is technically not the surgeon who operated on me, I asked him to suggest a Good Cardiologist near me. So, he suggested I see Dr Sameer Nagamia, and I have!

Dr. Sommers operated on my husband just a few months ago. He was so kind to us during such a horrific time. He saved my husband’s life. I have an abundance of gratitude for this man for dedicating his talents towards a life of serving others. What a wonderful human being God made. He may not remember me…. but I will never forget him. Thank you Doctor. It’s a debt we will never be able to repay. I highly recommend this surgeon. Not only is he well qualified, but he’s compassionate. You’re in skilled, loving hands with this doctor.

Absolutely the very best Doctor and team! Everything is explained in terms the patient can understand. The team & Doctor are positive and easy to communicate with. They do their very best to make the patient comfortable and accommodate the patient to the best of their ability. I'm thankful Dr Sommers is a doctor that prides his self on fully understanding what the complaints and symptoms are, then tailoring a plan based on those facts. He doesn't guess at what MIGHT be wrong. We traveled to see him and have my procedure with him.. HE'S MORE THAN WORTH THE TRAVEL TIME!

I visit dr for a nodule that has grown, and in less than 1 month he did robotic surgery, I had stage 3 lung cancer. His service and his team service was more than excellent. He is very professional and an expert in robotic surgery, he is the best!

Dr Sommers is a fine doctor but, his office staff is the worst I've ever seen. On my first appointment we drove 4 hours round trip to be told it was changed to a televisit. They admitted they didn't call us. No problem. After the surgery Dr Sommers promised to call my wife who is an internist but he never called. Then I called the office and Everytime they would transfer or put me on hold the phone would disconnect. On my checkup in the office I asked if Dr Sommers would call my wife like he promised. They said he would. I said not to call my number call hers and supplied the number. 10 days went by no call. I checked my phone which I wasn't using and sure enough Dr Sommers had called my phone the next day. My final appt. was set for Fri. They changed it. I called and was hung up on 3 more times. They told me 100% that didn't happen. I said I'm done I don't want anything to do with that office after being told we were liars. I suggest you find another Dr to avoid the abuse.

Thank you for saving my husbands life, not a day goes by without being thankful for you! There’s not enough words to describe how great of a surgeon you are, very detailed and attentive and confident at what you do, even his scar looks great. It’s incredible, god bless you.

Was my first surgery ever. Dr. Sommers and his staff were amazing on all levels. I was so comfortable throughout, considering lung cancer diagnosis and surgery. Thank you Dr. Sommers and Tampa General.
