Kenneth Zuckerman's Online Review Report Card

I tried to make an appointment just now for ear wax removal, and the person who called me back from his practice asked me for my name, date of birth, etc. I told her my name and date of birth, and she acted suspicious and then told me they had a male patient with a different first name but same last name with the exact birthdate as mine. She gave me his first and last name and kept telling me in a strange tone wondering how this could be. I asked if he is using my address, and she said I can't give out that information, but she gave me his first and last name and of course the birthdate matches mine--so ridiculous and unprofessional and probably a HIPAA violation. After this phone call I lost confidence in his front office person, and told her that the appointment date she was suggesting was too far off, but in actuality it was her insinuation. I have had the same health insurance since 2005, and we are 2023, so what was she inferring?

Complete waste of time. I've been calling this office for the last 2 months trying to get a referral for a simple sleep study and my visit. First, they said they would have someone call me within 2 weeks, but no one did. After following up with them, they put in the request and gave me the number to follow up with a sleep study company. Turns out, they sent me to a company outside my network, even though there are plenty in my network. After calling again, they referred me to the Hoag sleep study company. This time, the new company said they never got the order. Finally, after getting the order in, it's been another month and the sleep study company says they need additional information for my doctor and they've made 3 attempts and no one from the doctor's office is getting back to them. Save yourself the trip, these people are lost.

I give the front desk receptionist a zero star if I could. Incompetent or she knew exactly what she was doing. Before I can have my ears checked by the doctor, she said I needed a hearing test. I asked 3 times only if it's covered under my well-known insurance plan. Every single time she said "yes" or "yes, don't worry about it." The hearing test is billed separately than the doctor's bill. I get the EOB for the Audiologist and it states, "out of network provider." I call her and she forwards me to billing located at another Shohet Ear Associates office in Newport Beach. Billing won't waive the charges but reduced it to the amount I would have to pay if it was covered. I had already met my deductible for the year but I had no choice but to pay it. Even though Dr. Zuckerman's office is a in network provider, don't expect that the Audiologist they use is in network. Even if you ask that question, the front desk who I won't name her name will say it is. Such a scam. The Audiologist group (Shohet Ear Associates) should have waived all charges due to the incompetency of the front desk of this doctor's office. For the doctor I give him 3 stars because his chairside manner took me aback. He walked in with his note taker, didn't introduce himself, sat in a chair not facing me, didn't even look at me and asked what he can do for me. Not a very good first impression. To top it off, he didn't even know I took a hearing test until I was about to leave. It's obvious he didn't order such a test. The Audiologist group - Shohet Ear Associates lost a patient because they did not do the right thing. It's how they run their business and it comes from the top. Dr. Zuckerman's office also lost a patient due to incompetency and lack of interest in seeing a patient.

I had a severe sinus infection that impacted my hearing. Dr. Zuckerman was referred to me by my primary doctor. There was quite a long time to wait for an appointment because he is so good at what he does and I asked if they would call me if a cancellation was made. The front desk called me 3 days later and asked if I could come the next day. I really appreciated that they kept my request and gave me the opportunity to come earlier. The receptionist was really on it and it made a big difference for me. It ended up that I had fluid in my eardrums from the infection. Dr. Zuckerman recommended he drain my left eardrum as I could hardly hear from it. He did the procedure quickly and painlessly and my hearing was restored. There were no side effects from it and it continues to remain working well. Many thanks to Dr. Zuckerman and his team.

Our son just had his tonsils removed by Dr. Zuckerman at the Newport Beach surgery center on 19th and Harbor Boulevard. I work in the surgical center space and as such have a lot of experience to compare to. Dr. Zuckerman was beyond helpful communicated more than you could ever recently expect that successfully completed the surgery. The staff at the surgery center was amazing No less than five different registered nurses came to play and joke around with my son totally removing the fear that the young man had about having surgery! Dr. Zuckerman was recommended to me by another physician who sends all her patients there I can see why he was exceptional

I liked the doctor and the service I received from him, but unfortunately his staff SPECIALLY THE FRONT OFFICE LADY, I'm sorry to say this but the only feeling I receive from her is hatred, it feels like every time I go to the office I have done something to deserve the worst treatment I get from her, and it's not just me she is like that with everyone!!!!! I have to tell you, you have been placed there to be the face of the office and your main job is patient care which you've been failed to do it big time.

He is kind understanding and cares about his patients. I had the pleasure of meeting him last month and was so impressed he didn't care about all the medical problems I had he cared about what brought me to his office, we need more doctors like Zukerman and less of " doctors that have attitude". A big thank you to this office for making me believe there are doctors still out there that care and the reason why they choose the field of medicine they did" wow let's see if any other doctors can file suit and be a Dr Zukerman!!! I usually don't post reviews "patients need somewhere to honesty do the research on these doctors"

I come from a family of physicians including 2 Heart Surgeons, 2 Family MD's and a Orthopedic Surgeon. I waited 1 month for this appointment and went in prepared with x-rays, CT sinus scans and all of my nasal sprays. This is a total waste of time and money. In August 2019, I was referred by urgent care for sinus migraines to Dr. Zuckerman. I've been having sinus migraines for the past 4 months and really needed medical help. Not only he couldn't provide any answers, nor did he refer me to a specialist, he also wouldn't provide me any medication to treat my sinus migraine & relieve me of pain !! Even after I provided a recent 1 month old RX that provided some relief, he wouldn't write me another RX that was similar. WHY would ANY patient waste their time to see a doctor if over the counter medicine worked ???? Not to mention his staff is also not interested to help you. If your issue requires extra research, they don't want to bother. They just want their money. DON'T waste your time or money. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience, so you can make an educated decision.

Dr. Zuckerman and staff live up to his website statement. He was caring, friendly, and thorough. I went because of a hearing loss and I now hear better. He was careful not to cause pain and yet got the job done.

I don't recommend this doctor, for one specific reason his staff are extremely rude and disrespectful to the paying clients/patients. They have absolutely no understanding and knowledge of customer service. The worse of all is their scheduler. She is RUDE, UNEDUCATED AND DISRESPECTFUL. After so many times of trying to talk some sense to these staff I decided I am better off with a better professional staff and doctor.
