Terrible doctor. Only concerned about sleep apnea and insomnia. In addition, sometimes wait is an hour and a half to two hours. No apologies, no explanations. Many other good endocrinologists in this city.

Thorough, clear explanations. Left with full understanding of various components. Having a summary of visit and recommendations avoids confusion.. Wonderful professional visit. Very satisfying.

Doctor himself is great and thorough. Only downfall is appointments timing. Regardless of the set appointment time patients are to expect an hour to hour and a half wait to see him. Today I had an appointment for 11am (scheduled 6 months ago) and ended up being seen by the nurse practitioner at 12:20 because "it would be faster" since there was still another patient ahead of me basically 1.5 hrs after my appointment time. This is very disheartening. At that point I just wanted to leave and didn't care about lab work results or being seen at all. Scheduling of patients should be adjusted according to his timing. It is very rude and inconsiderate of the patient's time. Just like we as patients are expected to show up on time, doctors should try to follow through with the appointment time set or as close to it as possible and not expect patients to be ok with 1-1.5 hr wait past the appointment time as the "standard". Again doctor is great but the scheduling piece needs to be fixed somehow. It is very annoying and disappointing. I have another appt in 6 months and if the same thing is happening by then I'll be leaving the practice and perhaps having to settle for another doctor even if not as good as Dr. Sainz. It is very sad to put patients in this predicament especially patients with health conditions worthy of a good doctor.

Excellent physician patient focused caring. Spends the time needed with each patient to help resolve there medical problems. Wish all providers were like Dr. Saint de la Pena, please don’t retire.

He is very assertive, and very knowledgeable in his field and general medicine. He shows interest in each patient and devotes time to take detailed care. He carefully reviews the medical history of the patient answering the questions I may have. He patiently addresses all concerns, providing a documented response. He is fully fluent in Spanish and English.

I've been a type 1 diabetic for 35 years...22years under the care of Dr de la Pena. Best physician I've ever been to. I send all my friends and family to him if they need endocrinology based care. Staff is great. Labs a super quick. never had any problem with prescription refills.
