My mom recently had a surgery done by Dr. Buscemi. She asked the doctor to not use stitches and to use surgical glue instead. He stitched the incision and offered no reason as to why he couldn’t use the glue. Then, when my mom had to have the stitches removed (that she specifically asked not to have), she asked for an anesthetic on the site of the incision. She was told: “We don’t do that here.” She almost passed out from the pain. I’ve had to spend the remainder of the day helping her while she was crying in pain. Thanks, Dr. Buscemi. Do no harm.

Office is dingy , staff is rude and incompetent. Jane who was at the front desk gave me my paperwork. Pretty much a repeat of information I gave over the phone. The XRay technician had zero personality or empathy. Dr Buscemi was pleasant enough and on paper has excellent credentials but not sure I will return to this office! As I was leaving, I brought up the fact that I had not paid the $40 co-pay. To which Jane responded that she told me she was checking my insurance and would charge me at the end. She never said that. She then told me I had not reached my deductible and it would be $156. Additional visits would be $85! I generally have a $40 deductible! I unfortunately paid it and called Humana when I got home. They told me I had no deductible and the bill should have been $40! I immediately called back. They said they would look into it and call me back. I missed the call and when I called back I got the answering machine. Called back next day. Jane answered the phone.. She said she called me multiple times and even had the other woman witness the fact. When I told her I only had one missed call, she said that when she called it didn’t ring or go through. I asked why she didn’t leave a message the one time it did go through, she said there was no option to leave a message….not true! Bottom line is she did verify that I was owed a $116 refund but since it was the next day, they can’t process it. They can either cut me a check or issue a credit! Not sure why , knowing this, they didn’t refund money yesterday! While I was standing there , they were discussing a patient and a note that Jane had put in the computer. Patient was disputing note. After my experience, I’m pretty sure Jane makes a lot of mistakes , then lies to cover it up!

Sometimes a wait but very, very worth it. Dr. Buscemi is the most compassionate doctor I know. He WORKS with me, is patient and has consistently made me feel better. My family AND my neighbors highly recommend him!

Dr Buscemi performed my knee surgery in July. He was very informative, professional and compassionate.

Dr. Buscemi is amazing. He knew what was wrong with my knee within minutes. And gave me info on a treatment! Long wait tho.

Dr. Buscemi is excellent, makes you feel comfortable and that you are important. Explains everything in a manner that is understandable.

5 weeks from the day of surgery and I couldn’t be more pleased! I had my other knee done 10 years ago and the experience was so bad I’ve forgotten the doctors name but remember his disappearance after surgery and the full year it took my knee the heal. That’s why it took another 10 years of enduring pain to finally find rescue in the name of Dr Buscemi. The man is my hero. Friendly, dry wit and capable he put me at ease. Just before surgery he thanked me for my trust in him!! Never have I heard of that! 28 hrs after arriving at St Joes North ( my first visit) I was home again after one night! My recovery has been very smooth, manageable pain after 4 days. I’m in my late 70s and was nervous about undergoing this procedure and am so glad to have met this delightful doctor. I could go on and on but probably shouldn’t. Don’t be afraid! And do your therapy!

Because my phone malfunctioned the first time around, I do want to say he is a great orthopedic. He is very honest and straight to the point!! Thanks Dr. B!!
