Pediatric Dentistry Of New Tampa, Inc's Online Review Report Card

We are new to the area and I scheduled an appointment for my 2 and 4 year old. One appointment was for 8:30am and one was for 9am. We arrived at 8:20am and were moved to a room right away. The lady who did the cleaning was nice and was finished with both kids at 8:45am. By 9:35am we were still waiting for the dentist...I asked and they said the dentist just started a procedure on another child but will be with us soon. Their system is terrible and clearly does not work. Due to work I could not wait any longer, we paid for the cleaning and left. No apology or any kind of acknowledgment by the front desk. If the wait is that long for an 8:30am appointment I don't even want to know what the wait looks like in the afternoon.

Dr Martha is amazing, very patient and a knowledgeable, love to go there and my daughter is so happy when is time to go to the dentist. 🩷

An absolutely wonderful kid's dentist! The office staff and the dentist were very friendly and helpful. My 1 yr old was treated with the best care. A great place for her first dental visit.

I was referred to Dr Rivera when I moved to Tampa in 2009 and she has been my kids dentist since. She’s like family to us, she’s watched my kids grow over the years and they are quite fond of her. She is so kind but stern when it comes to dental health and my kids respect her for it. She talks to them in a relatable way, very sincere, caring and her staff reflects those qualities as well. Over the years with 3 kids and a busy schedule, her team has always responded to me with patience, understanding and care. I definitely refer anyone looking for a pediatric dentist to Dr. Marta Rivera.

This place is terrible. The service gets worse every time we come and today I just left the appointment after waiting over an hour for a quote. Mind you I have two minor children who were also there and they continually asked me to wait while they serviced customers who came in after me. I feel like it’s racist and I was treated poorly as a black family. I’m just saying be careful when going here.

Very nice and kid friendly office. Very clean. Claudia and Dr Marta was so sweet and my kids felt really comfortable with them. Glad we chose this dental home 😊

Awesome place. My daughter was at ease, loved the themed rooms. Everyone was great. Definitely try them out!

Total sham of a practice. They claim to be experts in complex pediatric dental conditions and will only treat you if you sign a contract worth $4750 for a care plan. We start care with this office, and after 3 visits all my child had received are x-rays, and a myomunchee (a $50 soft silicone orthotic I re-ordered from Alibaba.com). Besides giving us the myomunchee, our initial $2500 payment got us nothing - zilch. We signed a contract for getting a Mybrace, and there was no fitting or provision of the same. After 3 visits with no actual dental care, we called the office and wrote to them in October 2022, and informed them we no longer wish to continue the once a care. The office didn't acknowledge our termination notice, or give us a refund for services not provided. We don't hear anything from the office after, till the date I'm writing this review-over a year later in November 2023. This office has the audacity to bill us for care we didn't receive, **after** we told them we didn't want to continue with their practice. I called their office to rectify the situation and from the front desk's canned response, they clearly have done this before. Please look at other negative reviews about their nefarious billing practices. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone looking for quality care, and I hope they suffer the consequences of predatory patient care practices.

Insurance is causing an issue over a relatively small $240 bill, but the office is now threatening to the point of HARASSMENT, after we've had 2 children go here since birth, with a top PPO plan & 2 major ortho /braces treatments for over $18,000 lifetime value of this customer, todate. It's extremely disappointing that the billing person is permitted to treat patients this way over a plan change discrepancy that is currently under appeal with the insurance Co. The Dentist herself is talented & great as well as the assistants & young office staff, though being negatively influenced by the billing person. There should be leadership oversight over the billing person but that doesn't seem to be happening.
