Dr Raul. He was very good, explaining to me what was wrong with my Neck! He had a very comfortable and reassuring way, in what the plan is to affectively handle my diagnosis! Great Doctor.
Dr. Olivera is a knowledgeable, highly skilled, kind surgeon. I had surgery for a C5-C6 disc replacement in May. I had many concerns going into the procedure because I have complications with anesthesia. I interviewed several neurosurgeons before choosing Dr. Olivera. He came highly recommended by several health care professionals who have worked with him, All commenting on his attention to detail. In our first appointment his confidence that both he and his team could handle anything and would care for and monitor me closely during the procedure combined with his detailed explanation of the procedure made both my husband and I feel like he was the perfect surgeon for my procedure. He did not fail! I had a more complex procedure because of the amount of compression on my spinal chord from the disc. I am confident because of his skill set and in how he handled my surgery that I have had this outcome. I am recovering beautifully only 3 months out with no pain complaints and my strength and function improving each day. I am so grateful for the wonderful care Dr. Olivera provided me with and the great outcome. One final note, I had several questions the day before my procedure and I called the office expecting a nurse to call with the answers. To my surprise, Dr. Olivera called me back personally and was quite humble when I thanked him for taking the time to personally call me. He insisted that this is what patients deserve so they can be comfortable when going into a surgery. He deserves 10 stars for skill, attention to detail and kindness. Truly blessed!
Muy buen neurocirujano..y te explica todo muy bien
My husband was diagnosed with a tumor in his intraventricular area. Dr. Olivera performed a R-frontal lobe craniotomy to gain access to his tumor. A partial resection was performed to drain this lesio like tumor and release the pressure it was placing on his 3rd ventricle. My husband today is symptom free and oly needs frequent MRIs to check for regrowth. Apparently 1/2 of these tumors regrow within 10 years. We are grateful the tumor was benign!
Excellent surgeon, would not go to anyone else! Top shelf
Wheelchair ramp ✅ stairs ❌ On a scale of 1-10 politeness= 9 Courteous=10 Respect= 10 Comments:-----> patient recommends that Dr's Should always take into consideration how they feel about how far out the appointments are booked even if the shunt might appear to be working and then you make an appointment 6 months away I start having complications after 3 months, now I am forced to go to the hospital because you're Office is slammed because you said 6 months to 1 year, that's actually happened when I was 18 Neuro said see you in a you in a year 3 months after that I hemmoraged
My mom and I met with Dr. Olivera last year to discuss a brain aneurysm that was found on a CT scan. After meeting with him we felt very comfortable with his ability to perform such a delicate surgery. Dr. Olivera performed the brain aneurysm surgery on my mom in July 2022. My mom has fully recovered and is doing amazing! He is the most thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring doctor! When my mom was feeling nervous Dr. Olivera called her, went over every question, and concern we had. We were always well informed throughout the entire process. He is a very highly qualified Neurosurgeon, and I don’t know if we would've had the same outcome if we went with someone else. We are beyond grateful that we found him! She lives in Texas and continues to fly down to see him for her follow-up appointments, because she only trusts him.
I was referred to Dr. Olivera as a qualified NS in late 2020. He fit me into his schedule to discuss my newly diagnosed 3.9 cm meningioma on my brain stem. He preceded to tell me that my tumor was inoperable and could be catastrophic if surgery was performed. He also made NO suggestion that I should seek other opinions by a NS that had more expertise in the area of my tumor. Luckily, I found a more qualified NS in Houston, TX and had a 10 hour surgery within weeks and made a full recovery. Please seek other opinions. It is a matter of life or death.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
