Fabulous doctor

I needed surgery (ACDF) and Dr. Cutler answered all my questions, told me what to expect and helped me to be calm, even though the prospect of having surgery on my spine was terrifying). He was highly recommended to me by 2 other doctors and I am forever grateful that I listened to them. I highly recommend.

My father had brain surgery Christmas Eve 2022 primary neurosurgeon wasn’t available and Dr. Cutler backed him up He approached the room I was on video with my sister watching and trying to talk with my dad, this Dr. entered the room and didn’t even say hi. immediately told me sister to stop recording My sister said i’m not recording I’m on video with my sister. I told my sister let’s get of FT video and I’ll call you back so I can listen to the doctors updates via phone speaker When I called my sister he already left the room with no explanation I had to call the nurse Giselle back and ask what just happened since she was also in the room when that doctor came in and saw/heard it all. She apologized and didn’t know why either . He was disrespectful, terrible bedside manner. I told her she needs to find another doctor to provide the family an update and she did . I told her I had every right to be on speaker to listen to what he had to say. I’m sick and not able to be there. We didn’t have any issues with previous doctors when I was on video as well as speaker getting updates on my dad. Regardless, this Dr. approach was unacceptable! This doctor has no right speaking to my sister that way period!

Best damn surgeon on the planet. 4 surgeries and I’m sure more to come. Hope he never retires…

My lumbar spinal single fusion left me in a lot of pain in 2015 and even worse still 7 years later. He hasn’t been able to recommend me to anybody that’s done anything. I’ve seen 11 specialists and had 9 injections. I have chronic pain in the 7 range that’s disabling. He doesn’t have a clue what to do or where to send me. I’m near out of options. Also he did a c-spine triple fusion on me in 2013. In 2018 one of the screws in the hardware came lose and began protruding into my esophagus. (Fortunately it did not puncture it.) He had to perform surgery to remove the hardware. The man has an excellent reputation. But after 2 botched surgeries no way I can recommend him. BTW if you do go to him you’ll hear his sales pitch. When you come in he’ll have your films up on computer screen and say right off the bat “look you’re bone on bone.” In fact, the term “bone on bone” refers to osteoarthritis and particularly in knees. You can Google it yourself. It doesn’t refer to spinal issues.

I didn’t meet the doctor because he refused to see me without an explanation. His secretary told me literally that he didn’t want to see me and that lack of empathy with a person who is losing its ability to walk is totally inexcusable in a medical professional. I ended having a very rare neurological condition and I’m grateful that I found the USF neurosurgery team that has the knowledge to treat me with care and compassion. If you are looking for a good professional make yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Dr. Cutler was my surgeon and I honestly feel he is exceptional. He is quiet and confident, he answered all my questions and has a common sense approach to recovery. If my closest friend or family member needed spinal surgery I would want Dr. Cutler to do it. I feel like my recovery is going to be great because I am starting from a wildly successful surgery by a very skilled surgeon.

I send my MRIs etc from my hospital stay to his office but he wont speak/respond/accept me as a patient but since there was no explanation I guess its on to the next one
