I had a terrifying ultrasound pointing to testicular cancer. It was awful. I saw this guy a few days later, and he not only literally saved my life by performing surgery less tham than a week later, he helped me get back on my feet from a mental perspective. He is a sai t.

In May 1997, Dr. Thomas Rutherford surgically removed the ovarian cancer, and, after several weeks planned a course of five chemotherapy sessions. At the initial consultation, Dr. Rutherford looked kindly at me from across his desk and said, "I can help you." And he most definitely gave me hope, a keen understanding of the treatment, and his warm friendship. I am forever grateful for his warmth, good humor, and guidance. Twenty-four years later, I continue to live a full and active life.

I was a patient of Dr. Rutherford's at Yale U. Med. Center 24 years ago, after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. My original ob-gyn gave me a poor prognosis, but Dr. Rutherford gave me hope and put his heart and soul into my case. He is both kind and brilliant - and because of his care, I was able to go on to adopt a lovely daughter! I will never forget Dr. Rutherford - who gave me back my life!

Dr Rutherford is an excellent surgeon. He was my Oncologist here in Ct for over 13 years. He took great care of me. I felt safe knowing I had him by my side. He is so missed here in Connecticut. If you need a fantastic Oncologist to put your trust in and feel safe he's your man.He deserves 10 stars.

Dr. Rutherford and his team are the best. I had a hysterectomy 37 years, and developed a cyst on my ovary that had to be taken out. Thanks to my OB/GYN doctor, who sent me to him, and Dr. Rutherford's great team, did a fantastic job!!!!

He doesn't understand or care even though he's one of the only gynecological oncologists in the area who accepts my insurance serving the poor population in a 50 mile radius, that life does happen. Scariest point in my life no understanding at all. I lost my transpo and someone to be released to with no warning so I couldnt go for my procedure. I was left stuck the day of ,dressed and ready to go at 5:30 am because I had to travel to Tampa from Pinellas. So I called the hospital to let them know I couldnt come and then called the Dr to reschedule. After being ignored all week they called and let me go as a patient. I was dumped by the only Dr in my area. Scariest part of my life Im left hanging. Leaving someone with dysplasia with no doctor is not very humanitarian. Then I was lectured on the dangers of smoking worsening my condition after I told the nurse that there arent any other doctors and what Im going to have to do. I am aware but you know thats not going to change what Im left still dealing with with no oncologist.

Dr Rutherford is the best Gyn in Tampa. He has knowledge and confidence in his job. He explained everything step by step, was very honest. And even telling me all the risks, I trusted him. And I was not wrong because everything went better than I expected. I thank God for bringing him to me.

I came to Dr. Rutherford with a mass covering my female organs. I came to him on Monday and on Friday he performed surgery to remove the mass. I thank God for bringing this doctor to me. I thank God for all the prayers for healing and full recovery. I am so grateful they found NO cancer. Dr Rutherford is a gift from God. He is intelligent in his field of medicine, with a kind and gentle mannerism. If there is a woman out there looking for an excellent GYN Oncologist, look no further!
