Indeed, Dr. San Miguel is a good doctor. But, that doesn't seem to matter...you never get to see her anymore. My question is: How does one gain the "privilege" of actually have a doctor anymore? I fail to see that the ACA (Obamacare) has improved medical care in this country. It appears to me that we have gone backwards.
Dr. San Miguel has been my Fathers doctor for the last seven years and I am so happy she is leaving town and moving to Tampa. San Miguel has been very dismissive and downright rude to my face, if I show up for my Father's appointment with him. I asked her a direct question and she turned away from me and turned to my Father and said Mr....do you have this concern? What kind of Doctor would do this? Knowing I care for him and in charge of his meds, he called from her office to ask what mg of med?
We are so going to miss her. We felt like we had a doctor for life. If you ever come back to this area, please contact us because we want you back. Good Luck and we will miss you. Susan Knapp & Jerry Scott
2 yrs + patient. Seen every 6 months. Went to ER two weeks ago due to sever lower back/abdominal pain, couldn't walk. Was diagnosed with kidney stone. Told to follow up with Dr. in 1-2 days. They gave me appt 2 weeks out, as that was the soonest they could see me. I go in today and Dr actually raised her voice to me about going to ER, "why didn't you come here first". I was never instructed to see Dr prior to any ER visits, and the occur suddenly. So I'm supposed to schedule for an emergency?
Very impressed with her knowledge of medical conditions. We travel from the villages because she is connected to the Orlando health system. She was able to immediately send me to a memory specialist doing cutting edge work. Her staff is intelligent, knowledgeable and conscientious. They call us appox 2 weeks after our appointment to see if we have followed up on labs and specialist. GREAT job ladies!
I saw her AP Milton, who I liked very much, but her office staff is overwhelmed. Both times I had simple tests done, I had to wait almost a month for results. Once they lost my x-ray results and didn't call to tell me, so I didn't know why I wasn't getting a call back. The nurse said I needed to see a physical therapist, then they lost that referral. I called to ask if I could get on another pain medication-never got an answer. Both times I saw Milton, I was asked to move my appointment.
Dr. San Miguel and her PA Milton Arana are terrific, so is the office staff.
This doctor doesn't care about her patients after all she has "over 2,000 patients". Office manager has an negative attitude. Doctor and doctor assistant do not go back over old records, prescribed me a medication for infection that I was already on! Physical consisted of pap, breathing, and breast exam, never going back to see that I had beginning stages of osteoporosis and test for progression, I am on medication that causes ovarian cancer, didn't follow up on that either. Went in for UTI and they never sent the sample to the lab, I have had a kidney transplant and and UTI can easily go into a kidney infection.
Anyone that can put up with my husband is awesome.
I would never find a Dr who care as much as she does . She has helped me throw a very bad year..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
