I have been visiting CHI since a kid and still use them if needed as an adult. This is my first visit to the Tavernier office. The staff here was very friendly and prompt. The attending doctor Mr. Martinez was very helpful with my ear infection condition and unlike the doctor in the Gould’s location he referred me to a ENT. The first doctor did not prescribe the correct antibiotic the doctor here did. They also accepted my insurance Florida Blue. I would recommend this location for small ailments and non emergency health problems.

I was told months ago I qualify for SSI medicaid in FL and applied recently. I then called last week to see if I could see a doctor soon and was scheduled for wed. 23 Dec. I filled out forms online the day before and when I checked in the “cranky” receptionist told me to fill out more paperwork and was obviously angry that I had no Medicaid card. I wish I could have waited for a card but it’s been months waiting for a card and I’ve been in agony since I moved to Florida months ago and needed help soon. I have a half century of complicated medical problems and have been denied medical care most of that time because of doctors attitudes like Rodriguez had when I finally got to see him 90 mins after arrival. He hurriedly said his name and “what can I do for u today” when I tried to explain my major symptoms admitting that I need referrals and have extensive medical needs he just shook his head and repeated himself talking over me so I just gave up and took his prescription for hydro cortisone. He stormed out of the exam room saying “most people wear a mask when they talk to a doctor” but I had laid so long on the exam table that I forgot I removed my mask. Why not say something when he first entered? I should have never worn a mask since they cause me terrible facial pain but I suffered through it as always to try to get some medical care. It’s amazing to me that doctors know so little about infections and biology but since I studied biology and chemistry in college where we were taught all about these biological weapons. COVID is also a psychological and societal weapon designed to make the lifelong poor like me even poorer and more desperate. The medical community that never wore masks before during exams disappeared early in 2020 then realized how that looked and then desperately tried to return to business showing more important they think they are than their patients. People like me who needed continuing care should never pay a doctor again but what choice do we have ? In an insane society insanity is the only allowable path and pain and suffering are all I know in life.Tom DebooyTavernier FL.

The staff and Dr. Martinez at the C.H.I. are amazing I need a last min. referral for a appointment with my specialist and they got it done. They deserve 10 stars
