My other half broke her hip and experienced a low sodium level while in Rehab. It seemed prudent to follow discharge instructions with a follow up appointment so we made an appointment for May 12th 2pm. I didn't get the office location so a couple of days before the appointment I called not once but twice and was not able to get ahold of a human being at his office. The people answering the phone is a service who offered to transfer me over to the office but no one picked up? The listed address is in Venice and the reason I know that is we had to have blood drawn before the appointment. Today we drove down to Venice at 517 Riviera and the office was closed? I called the listed number from Hospital discharge paperwork and the answering service answered. Dr Patel may be a great Doctor but runs a BAD BUSINESS. I have an advanced degree and operational experience from the Army. Avoid at all costs!

My husband was in Sarasota Memorial with covid pneumonia. He was put on a ventilator, which in turn caused his kidneys to fail. 2 weeks after my husband was admitted, Dr. Patel was calling us and to tell us how sick my husband was and the odds of his kidneys would ever function normal again were slim. After one month, Dr. Patel literally told us we were inhumane and causing my husband to suffer and that he would end up in hospice, on dialysis, with a ventilator, and tube feeding. One week after being transferred to another hospital this same man Dr. Patel deemed as a vegetable, is off dialysis, off the ventilator, and is trying to communicate/talk. My husband called me for the first time in 2 months! Dr. Patel is not the compassionate, life-saving doctor we needed. He did not provide me with data and lab information, just his opinion. I feel like my husband was worth more dead than alive for covid money. Families who may not be as educated, would have chosen to stop treatment.

Doc is always very thorough, personable, and will answer your questions. I like his kind straight forwardness because I like knowing where my kidneys health is and what I can tune in on to make life easier on them and me!
