Carl Klutke's Online Review Report Card

My husband recently had his initial visit with Dr. Klutke and it was a fantastic experience. The office staff was friendly and welcoming, making him feel comfortable from the moment we stepped in. The doctor displayed a higher level of professionalism, taking the time to listen to his concerns and thoroughly discuss his medical history. The thoroughness in examining , and, addressing his needs was truly impressive. Overall, it was a positive and reassuring visit, and we highly recommend this doctor for the professionalism, thoroughness and friendly office.

One of the worst Dr.experience I have ever had. Dr Klutke was rude, dismissive, condescending and totally unwilling to listen to my concerns. He was totally unprepared with any of my history or treatment with the nurse practitioner so there could be some coordination or understanding of my prior history. I went there in pain because of a uti, a uti that was quite possible the direct result of a cystoscope that he did a week or so prior. He said his test strip doesn’t indicate a uti (only blood in your urine). That should have been his first clue!! Didn’t want to hear that I had just done my own test strips at home and they were without a doubt positive, read at less than 1 minute. Had pictures of the test strips but again didn’t want to hear that. Didn’t care that I was in pain. He just told me “take Azo” and abruptly walked out of the room without saying another word leaving me and my husband in utter disbelief of his absolutely rude, callous, dismissive and totally unprofessional behavior. A woman knows her body. And this woman has probably more than seventy years worth of knowledge and experience when it comes to UTI’s. When she says she has a uti listen to her. I am not a chronic complainer, have never left a negative review but his treatment was absolutely uncaring, unprofessional and uncalled for. I have been dealing with UTI ‘s since childhood. I know a UTI when I have one no matter what his test said - maybe they were out of date, who know but mine showed positive and I know they were well within the current date range. At this point I am wondering if they even tested the correct urine sample as when I left his office immediately and went to urgent care maybe 20 minutes later they also confirmed that I did in fact have a UTI and prescribed appropriate meds. I am feeling better but to no thanks of Dr. Klutke. Thank you to the urgent care facility for being there to help. I have been a patient there for almost 5 years and have been very happy dealing with the nurse practitioners who were all outstanding and in my opinion outshine some Drs. who have big egos and little time.

Worst experience at any physicians office! No one answers phones. No one returns calls. No one calls you to give you test results. Most basic procedures and no one knows what to do nor has the proper instruments!!!

I told him my history and what I wanted. He scheduled surgery and now I no longer suffer from incontinence.

Update 3/28-left VM for Klutkes assistant to call me. I refuse to be stuck paying a $750 CT bill all because Klutkes office did NOT give RAVE ALL the medical records and claim was denied due to insufficient records proving medically necessary. Finally in Feb 2023 RAVE got ALL records from Klutkes office BUT their 1st and only allowed Appeal was DENIED but they are resubmitting records under a Reconsideration but there’s no guarantee it will be considered since their first appeal on Jan 14 was denied. IF Klutkes office had of given RAVE all the medical records it would have not been denied. If his office does not call me I will file in Small Claims court and file with other agencies if I have to. They dropped the ball yet we are stuck with the bill. We will take it to court if need be. I’m done with people dropping the ball, not calling back, not following up and doing their job YET think it’s OK to stick me with the bill Update 3/16/23- we got stuck with a $750 CT bill because Klutke's staff did NOT submit ALL medical files to BCBS. Total dropping the ball by his staff. RAVE charged my credit card or they'd send us to Collections UPDATE-2/23. Left several voicemails for Klutkes nurse to call me with no response yet. Left text message for Katherine as well. Klutes staff should have submitted ALL doctors notes to BCBS back in August for CT request AND for December Appeal YET no doctors notes were submitted to BCBS even for December appeal SO BCBS DENIED first appeal. Update 2/9- no return call or text from Katherine and I've left six voicemails for klutkes nurse over past five weeks with NO return call Update 1/31: Still waiting on Kathryn from Dr Klutke 's office to call me back with an update regarding this fiasco. Since Klutke contracted out with Rave I expect his office to get involved and help me deal with RAVE dropping the ball several times yet trying to stick me with a $700 bill. Still no update from Tina Stetina from RAVE either. GOOD GRIEF. UPDATE 1/24 Rave screwed up AGAIN Filed inadequate Appeal to BCBS in December.Had to refile appeal on 1/13 YET said I am responsible for bill and next 💸 ng cycle will send my name to COLLECTIONS!! Besides Raves disaster in supposedly getting approval Pre Auth for this cat scan. Dr klutke scheduled a cat scan on my husband abdomen due to possible serious health issue. RAVE said they contacted our insurance BCBS for approval is cat scan. RAVE said all was good to go as they spoke to BCBS. Catscan was scheduled for August 9. Well, now RAVE is billing us for the full amount of catscan. BCBS said Dr Klutke Nor RAVE called them to get approval or pre authorization YET RAVE said BCBS did give them ok yet BCBS said ‘not true’. So RAVE is sending us the full cost of catscan. Someone at RAVE or Urology PreAuthoruzation Dept did NOT do their job This is unacceptable. BCBS and I today tried doing a conference call with Dr Klukte staff between 1pm and 1:45pm yet staff did not answer the phones, only their answering service. I drove all the way to Dr Klukte’s office to discuss this screwup by their office AND RAVE with billing me full amount of catscan when they dropped the ball. Staff at Urology could not help me notify doctor Klutke that he needs to file appeal with BCBS and notify BCBS this catscan was medically necessary. I was sent on my way without anything accomplished at Klukte’s office, they gave me phone number of lady who does billing and I’ve left voice mails but so far no return call from Kathryn. Both Dr Klutke AND RAVE must fix this screw up with BCBS. I told them I am NOT paying this $700.00 bill when Klukte ordered it and RAVE said they were told by BCBS that “no pre authorization was needed”, BCBS said ‘not true’. Someone is not telling the truth yet they think they can send us this bill demanding we pay it. They screwed up. They dropped the ball. Fix this mess. File appeal AND send in doctors notes to BCBS explaining this catscan was medically necessary. I will see when I get a return call from Katherine from Dr Klutke’s office.y Good grief.

He is such a knowledgeable doctor. He did a great job on my surgery. I would recommend highly!

WARNING. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GO HERE. My husband went in for a procedure 8/10/22 that was 100% covered by insurance. The procedure was fine. He did a good job. But not with the headache after. For whatever reason the office said it was standard procedure to collect $600 and when the insurance company pays they would refund us right away… we questioned this because it seemed wrong that even though a procedure was fully covered we had to pay. They assured us over and over it was normal. I called a few weeks later and after many attempts to reach the office I got ahold of Kathryn in billing. She said once insurance received payment our card would be refunded. Weeks later I called again. At this point they received payment (I think it was about 9/28 they got insurance money). She confirmed we did double pay and we were owed the money. About 10 days later I called because still no refund.. mind you it takes calling over and over and over get Kathryn to answer. She changed her story and said they no longer are able to refund the card I had to get a check. Okay that’s fine.. send the check out. 10/25 I called and STILL NO REFUND. This time Kathryn said the check went out over 10 days ago and she doesn’t know what to tell me. I stated I was going to dispute the charge and then she said “oh wait the check went out yesterday”. It is now 11/2. Still no refund. Still no check. And this point I’m wondering if they do things fraudulently. How many people do they double charge and they just never notice?? The only way I KNEW it was covered by insurance was because I checked myself that it was a covered procedure WE WERE AT MY DEDUCTIBLE. It all seemed wrong to me up front but I went against my gut. They had no intention to tell us and seems they intended to just keep the money. I intent to report them to BBB and anyone else I need to so this doesn’t happen to others.
