List of Howard Grossbard's Reviews
Run, dishonest and has caused our family great distress. There are many options, why go see someone who cannot be honest of their own mistakes. Tragic. If no stars is an option take away the one. If your going in for a colonoscopy and the Dr. tears your colon and then blames the patient. You found your man. Shameful and disgusting.
He told me that the reason for my rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, distended abdomen was due to taking Xanax. Gave no medication or treatment of any kind. In following up with another Dr it turns out I had Crohn’s disease, Gastro paresis and gets. He is a menace to the health industry!
Dr. Grossbard has been my gastroenterologist for years. I would not have my colonoscopy procedure done by anyone else. I even travel for miles to get to his to his clinic.
Dr. Grossbard is an excellent Gastroenterologist. Everything went well with my colonoscopy procedure. He's the best!!!
Neglected to tell me I had precancerous polyps and told me to come back in 3 years. 3 years later I go back for another colonoscopy and I have a malignant tumor in my colon.
the results of my colonoscopy were not fully explained to me. I was told I only had a small amount of diverticulosis. Subsequent doctor in NY viewed the results and told me the results showed several places of diverticulosis, therefore my continued discomfort. Grossbard also told me to be sure to get a barium enema once I got to NY. The doctor there said 'WE DON'T RECOMMEND THOSE ANYMORE FOR THIS CONDITION. THIS IS AN OUTDATED PROCEDURE FOR THIS."
My experience with Dr. Grossbard was a difficult, and frustrating time during the year long undiagnosed period of my sickness. I am a 21 year old male who has been finally diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, and Celiac disease. Doctor Grossbard was the 3rd gastroenterologist that I had been to at that point during my sickness. The reoccurring issue during the time when I was searching for a diagnosis was that doctors believed my Celiac was causing my severe pain, and 50lb's worth of weight loss. Dr. Grossbard took a slightly different approach, and pursued a few other areas which the other doctors had not looked into. He placed me on a hugely expensive and painful two week course of antibiotics for a stomach bug called H-Pylori, and then as with every doctor prior to him he put me through every test that he could reason. A Meckells scan, a Barium swallow (even though I had already had one two months before), a HIPA scan for the Gallbladder, multiple CT scans, a capsule endoscopy and more and nothing came up. After insisting thanks to internet research and a great amount of reading that the Gallbladder and Pancreatic route were what was most likely causing my symptoms, Dr Grossbard sent me to a pancreatic specialist (who was a partner in his health group) who performed an ultrasonic endoscopy and finally found the pancreatitis. Dr Grossbard is the 3rd of three doctors who performed an unbelievable amount of tests on me when after reading and educating myself on the subject I realized my sickness was caused by very few things. These doctors profited $30,000 from my poor education on physical health and the various illnesses of the world, and they happily made me endure tests which they knew were futile and often costly. Dr Grossbard's personal assistant Carol was also extremely rude, and short with me during the entire time I worked with Dr Grossbard which made being sick and undiagnosed that much worse. Dr. Grossbard is part of a group of gastroenterologists in Florida called Florida Digestive Health Specialists. I also saw a Dr. Kondapalli and a Dr. Garrow who were part of this group. I do not want to smash this entire group of doctors because doctor Kandapalli was the final doctor I saw, and he was the best doctor that I dealt with. However, Dr Grossbard and my first doctor during the beginning of my sickness Dr Garrow, were very poor, slow, and seemingly uncaring doctors (you'll find my review for Dr. Garrrow if you search). So, if you are in a dire painful situation as I was, and you live in Venice/North Port/ Port Charlotte/ Sarasota County area go to Dr. Kondapalli if you can. If you can't, then make sure you research your doctors. I was blind sided by my sickness, and my poor choice of doctors like Grossbard and Garrow caused me to suffer much longer than was necessary.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
