List of Matthew C Ercolani's Reviews
Had a wonderfull first visit. The NP Elina was very thorough and addressed every question I had. I believe I can trust them to make quality well informed decisions when it comes to my medical conditions.
I was referred to the ELITE urology and was seen early June of 2021 due to heavy blood in the urine on 5/24/21. Dr Ercolani has seen me and recommended cystoscopy which was done one week later.Dr has informed me that all tests done were negative and that I didn’t need to follow up unless I had problems or further bleeds. One and a half year later I had to be seen in ER due to back and abdominal pain that was due to the acute diverticulitis but CT also showed a tumor in my bladder. I was referred to a doctor in Sarasota who did a surgery and I will see him next week re results and further treatment. I am very upset that Dr Ercolani didn’t recommend a retest in 6 months or so to make sure nothing has been missed.A year and a half went by and my tumor was growing undisturbed and who know what would’ve happened if I hadn’t had a diverticulitis and a CT. Thank you Dr Ercolani for absolutely nothing.
Filled out 8 pages of pre visit information, dropped it off at there office one day in advance of my appointment. The Doctor never looked at the information. They took a urine sample that showed an infection but never notified me that i had a problem. My GP notified me from a sample they had ordered. Dr. Ercolani sent an order for a drug to my pharmacy that could not be filled using my insurance without his written request , I sent the Dr. a request to accomplish that and it was never done. I am no longer his patient.
I'm looking for a urologist and all I'm reading are poor reviews. I live in Venice and now I finally believe how poor the doctors are around here. Doctors now are part off groups which pay them a salary, that salary makes doctors terrible at their job and they make up excuses for other people's weaknesses.
Impossible to get someone on the phone to make a appt. Calling since July 22. Answer service can’t get u to the venice office. NO ONE EVER calls u back. The worst office ever. How do u leave pt. Just waiting. Someone needs to fix this big problem or ur medical office will be no more, no one has time to sit around a wait when it come to their health
Wanted to attach electric sensors to my spinal cord in his office. refused anesthesiologist and radiologist. Uh, no.
Dr. Ercolani is a great doctor. He takes his time to explain in a manner that is not condescending. He makes you feel comfortable. His staff is professional and friendly. Jackie makes you feel truly welcome as soon as you walk into the office. I highly recommend Elite Urology!
( In reference of services in LHC, AZ 8/20-7/21) It's unfortunate that I have to update this to a negative review. In short, he is not providing near the same quality of care I received from him last year for surgery by a long shot. I am very disappointed with the lack of help and guidance to manage my symptoms. I would highly suggest passing on this one and trying a different doctor to save yourself the stress and headache...Last year I was really impressed with how well Dr. Ercolani managed my care for surgery and follow ups as I felt I was in great hands and all around well respected and would have rated him a A+++ doctor with excellent bedside manner. This year however, he's the complete opposite for reasons I can't pinpoint. At this point, he's lost my respect due to his delayed and very hit/miss treatment and off-putting attitude towards my care. He has left me with more questions than answers and just doesn't seem to be able to carry through with what is discussed for my treatment plan. I'd like to think he's simply spread too thin, however, the way it has progressed in the last 7 months of office visits, I honestly think he just doesn't care and it's easier to brush the concerns off while he "bandaids" the situation and claims "I've done my job" (mind you without the courtesy of referring out to any other specialist he thought more appropriate). While I appreciate what he has done when he was actually willing to play the role of doctor it's simply not enough to reassure me and let me fully trust his care again. His recent hot/cold approach has given me such high anxiety because I have no idea going into the office if I'll see a spark of the good doctor act where he'll attempt to address my concerns or will it be the Ercolani who completely dismisses my pain and it's limitations of my job/life as he rushes through my appointment. The final nail in the coffin is the fact we finally found a medication to trial that gave me relief from pain and symptoms, but he has failed to carry through by putting in the prescription or sending samples that we had previously discussed. When calling the office they have no clue what to say as he is currently MIA and not returning their calls. Meanwhile, pain and symptoms have returned full force. I think he should be ashamed of how poorly he has managed my recent plan of care and then the effect it has had on my life, but I highly doubt he'll even bat an eye. Very much disappointed in him and how this whole situation turned out.
My last urologist didn’t give me any options other than using a catheter. Dr. Ercolani has given me hope and opinions. Thank you
I do NOT recommend. He will go MIA on you should he decide you are not worth his time or appropriate care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
