Alec Lui's Online Review Report Card

My first experience was at the office to register as a new patient. The staff was friendly and very efficient but I did not get to meet the doctor until the date of surgery not at all unusual as I was referred by my family practice doctor for a specific problem. I was immediately pleased with the doctor as he was confident and relaxed in the surgical setting and the staff in the OR worked like a well oiled machine. When my wife arrived after surgery we had a meeting with Dr. Lui and he presented us with a detailed report which included color prints of the pathology and a detailed explanation of his treatment plan and expected outcome. I have never had such a great experience with any of my previous gastroenterology experiences and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Lui to friends and family.

In a word Dr. Lui is thorough without doing unnecessary procedures. He is highly respected in the medical community.

RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Lui couldnt figure out what was wrong so he gets combative and threatens to drop you as a patient this is after one visit. Complete joke and waste of time.

Dirty medical office gave a pass on but it’s gross in there. Initial consultation was so so not a great “bed side” manner but gave the dr a pass. Prescription was not covered by insurance out of pocket was $3600 which was of course astronomical and not going to pay. I settled for a recommended option from insurance and a 30 day trial. Today 54 I contacted Dr Lui for next option was contacted at 8pm in the evening by a very combative and rude Dr Lui stating I missed an appt and scolded me communicating that is a “nono and I will be dropped”. Now if I missed an appt that is my error but I NEVER rcvd a phone call reminder from his staff. It would appear Dr Lui was ready to drop me at a moments notice and lacked the knowledge to assist a patient. Best of luck to other patients seeing Mr Lui. I hope he assists you better with your GI issues than me and I look forward to my next GI doctor and a clean medical office.

Wonderful Dr. Calls you at home . Beside being caring and compassionate he also is meticulous and competent. He came in on a Saturday to do a procedure on my husband and took time to face time our Children . Just can not say enough about this Dr.

I was referred to Dr. Lui by my primary care doctor for a serious health issue. Dr. Lui saw me within a week. He scheduled appropriate tests through his capable staff and they asked me for my time preferences and said they would try to accommodate them. They did. Dr. Lui has an excellent physician assistant Margolie who is knowledgeable encouraging and calm. I have had many follow up appointments and receive good communication post tests. I highly recommend Dr. Lui.

Worst GI ever. Staff is rude and he is a joke. My husband was very disappointed and will never return. Trust me look for another Dr before going here.

I have no idea what some of these people are talking about. I was greeted pleasantly by the receptionist. I sat down with Brittany with all my forms that I completed. I went into a room and the nurse practitioner Margalie came in and went over my concerns. She was very efficient thorugh and pleasant.She tried to reach Dr. Liu who was in surgery. He is in Surgery from Tuesday thru Friday and obviously is not in the office very much. Margalie then brought me to Odalis who scheduled surgery. She immediately gave me the material needed and the prescription necessary. She also scheduled me for an MRI and gave me a script for blood work.Once again very efficient thorough and pleasant .Now hopefully the colonoscopy will go well.

Dr. Lui was late for every single visit and I dont mean 20 minutes Im talking an hour to two. This was more than inconvenient it was detrimental to his patients well being. He obviously has too many patients and it effects the quality of care that is given. I found him to be rude and insensitive when it came to communicating about the delicate subject of time remaining with the family of his terminal patient.
