Last year I had very bad sepsis and the hospital had Dr. Welton take care of my case. I honestly did like her and her nurse practitioner. Recently I was admitted with sepsis again and was seen by her once again. I was in the hospital for 8 days then exactly 1 week later I am admitted with high fever and still septic. 2nd day in the hospital I was surprised I hadn’t seen her yet since she or her NP come by daily. My nurse messaged her to ask a question and she responded with just a “she’s been fired from our practice due to non payment.” I was in complete shock. I called the office and not only was the lady on the phone extremely rude the amount was small and from last year that I never even remember getting a bill from. I told her as a nurse I have never heard of a patient being fired! And especially not for such a small amount. She said they do it all the time! Well, glad to know that healing patients comes after your love for money!!

I have had many infusions here. The staff is very helpful and caring. They make you feel like you matter.They have worked very hard to get my medications, with difficult drug and indurance.

The office staff is awful. I hung up feeling worse than I did before I called didn't think that was possible. Natasha is so unbelievably rude and has zero compassion for the patient that is on the other end of the phone. I've seen Dr. Welton before, about 3 years ago and the staff was nice. That is no longer true. I spoke with someone last week, said that everything would be taken care of and I would be called within 24-48 hours for an appointment. I was called at 12:19 p.m. Friday afternoon. I work M-F and had to step away from my desk, missed the call, called back at 12:21 p.m. and the phones were put on voicemail saying they were closed for the day so I left a voicemail. At 10:50 this morning, I still hadn't received a phone call so I called. After being placed on hold, Natasha picked up, repeatedly spoke over top of me, had no compassion, etc. When I asked to speak with someone else or the office manager I was told there was no one else I could speak with.

Dr. Welton was consulted when I was admitted to the hospital for a surgical site infection. She prescribed the initial antibiotic treatment and worked to determine the actual pathogen. Once identified, the treatment was tailored to meet that. She, or one of her ARNPs checked in on me every day which is extraordinary since this was over the Christmas/ New Years holidays. She and her staff were very caring and thorough.

Dr. Welton was consulted on my case and identifed the bacteria that caused my infection and developed a tailored treatment.

I have been with Dr. Welton for years and she is always right there for me. My care has never been in better hands.

The only reason Dr. Weldon has the one star is simply because I had to put something there for the review to be accepted. I am certainly not the only one that feels this way in the Vero Beach Community.
