List of Mark Zimmerman's Reviews
I don't understand the other 2 reviews here. Dr Zimmerman was my psychiatrist during a partial program with RI hospital. We met daily for 4 weeks of my program. He never talked down to me, and always asked my opinion on what he thought was going on. He listened patiently and asked thoughtful questions. He changed my bipolar meds, and when I experienced breakthrough anxiety, he adjusted the meds accordingly, until it was what i needed. He was also conversational and we chatted about books and movies, which set me at ease. Honestly, Dr Zimmerman helped me more in those few weeks than all the therapists and shrinks I've ever known, and I wish I could have him for my permanent psychiatrist.
I only gave him 1 star because zero was not an option. This man loves to hear himself talk and is so sure of his opinions that nothing you say matters. I don't know if he talks down to all women but he certainly treated me as an inferior and I even have my masters degree in mental health counseling. He makes you feel small and insignificant. He does not communicate well with your other providers and if he communicates at all with them he doesn't care what they have to say. Do whatever you can to avoid Dr. Zimmerman.
This man is very impressed with himself. After a 3 hr. interview with a psychologist, you meet with Dr. Z. Within 5 minutes he had "summed up" my problem (actually the psychologist had done so in a condensed report from the 3 hr interview). He is callous and talks down to women. He does the classic set up. You sit in a chair lower than his so he can look down on you as he bestows his analysis. I would never go to this man again and would never, ever recommend him to anyone. He has no compassion and has one of the worst bedside manners I have ever met. If you are looking for help, please go to another doctor. This man prides himself on beating up on patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
