Richard Handler's Online Review Report Card

Dr Handler is a very approachable, detail oriented, and professional physician that I highly recommend. He took care of both my parents and they were very pleased with the care they received from Dr. Handler. He not only is a nephrolgist, but has a strong background in internal medicine. An on-site laboratory is part of his practice. Again, I highly recommend Dr Handler.

I am so grateful to Dr. Handler for figuring out what was wrong with me when multiple physicians in the past did not. It turned out that I had a genetic disorder that was causing a multitude of problems. Other doctors just looked at one thing at a time. Dr. Handler took the time to look at the whole list of problems, did some testing that revealed the genetic disorder causing all of the problems. Now, finally, after years of issues, Dr. Handler has diagnosed the underlying problem and follows up routinely to help keep the related issues under control.

I had a perfect Experience!! I didn't have to wait and Dr Handler came in just as the nurse left the room. Dr. Handler was very professional and very caring about my issues . Dr Handler listened very well and is very knowledgeable and completely diagnosed all my issues. I never felt in a rush and forgot all my questions. I would recommend and completely trust the whole staff without a doubt!!

Dr. Handler is a very kind man. Not stand-offish like some doctors. Focuses on the patient and let's them make their health decisions without appearing insulted. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a kidney doctor.

Was not interested in my condition (Fabry's), because too few suffer the condition. He was not going to invest time in learning. I guess I can understand, but ...

I went to dr handler sevl times. I was very ill for many months and was unable for sevl months seeing drs to get an accurate diagnosis. Finally after 7 months of losing 40 lbs, so Dizzy I couldn't walk due to infection and losing vision and hearing, on my visit to dr. Phillips he actually put in my chart it was psychological.! It turned out I had massive staph mrsa infection or 6 months that had invaded my sinuses, my ears, eyes and chest. I knew something was very wrong, I went to er, was admitted, after 3 days and no treatment discharged with same debilitating issues. Now sicker and sicker and many drs my hustand got hospital records which shoped sevl badly infected sinuses which Indian River did not pick up on in hospital. 4 more months so sick. My husband took me back to boston where we had lived and I finally got proper diagnosis. Oral and sinus surgery had to be done so long infected, shame on dr handler for saying it was psychological. Of course I was anxious with such a long time no dr diagnosed or cultured so right antibiotic. I also have cvid.Ithe took a year to recover partially but I am left with serious problems. Dr handler was uncaring, rude and while I have stage 3 renal he should not have brushed me off like he did and actually put a lie in my chart. I was extremely ill.
