I had heard many good things about this doctor, but this has truly been one of the worst consumer experiences I’ve ever had. I made my appointment with Dr. Epstein office in December 2021 and the office was so booked I didn’t get a date for my appointment until March. This was all fine until the nurse scheduling my appointment told me that I had to get a referral from my pcp. At the time my pcp was my OB/Midwife because I was preganant and postpartum. I sent them a referral on Jan 3rd so that my OB would still be my pcp within my 6week postpartum period. The office didn’t call me until the day before my appointment months later to let me know that the referral was wrong. As far as they were concerned I’d have to schedule an appointment with my primary, which could be months out l, and then have to reschedule with them for who knows when. I asked the nurse Christine why she’s didn’t let me know when my referral was first turned in that it wasn’t right and I was told that I wasn’t understanding her. This office wasted so much of my time. By the end of the call the nurse told my that the office doesn’t even eccept my insurance. I spent months waiting for this appointment. This office doesn’t know what/how important my medical need is to be coming in. Without my medication I can go into a coma. It would’ve been nice to know when I first called the office that I’d never have been able to be a patient there in the first place. Ridiculous.
If I could rate a 0 star I would. My previous endocrinologist moved last year unexpectedly so I did some research and several people recommended Dr. Epstein. The earliest appointment was four months out which I was a little skeptical about but made the appointment anyways because its hard to find an endo in South Florida. I am a type 1 diabetic (for 19 years) and as many know insurance companies are stingy with how much insulin and supplies they let us have so I called the office and asked if there was anyway I could get a prescription for a Dexcom (which is a piece of technology and not a medicine) and they told me no and was incredibly rude about it when I asked them for suggestions on what to do in the meantime until I can see Dr. Epstein. They gave me no options and I ended up having to schedule an appointment and go through a primary care physician. Since I had to make the appointment 4 months in advance, I wanted to call and confirm the day and time because I had forgotten it. I called 4 times and left voicemails, no response. I ended up missing my appointment and now am currently looking for a new endo. For those who are looking for a new endocrinologist, if I can't even reach them to figure out when my appointment is what would happen if there is an actual health problem that you have questions with and can't reach them? Very irresponsible and unprofessional.
Dr. Britany Epstein is an excellent physician. She is extremely approachable, attentive, and professional. I could not have a better endocrinologist than Dr. Epstein!
I was so nervous about having my thyroid biopsy, but Dr Epstein was very calming, gentle, and talked me through the whole procedure. She has great bedside manners and is very caring and knowledgeable. Her nurse is very pleasant too!
The patient, Betty Brodie, had a very positive meeting with Dr. Epstein.
Starting from the beginning her front desk staff excel in customer service and attentiveness. Carla from the front desk went above and beyond with helping me get the authorization that I needed from my daughters pediatrician. I can’t thank her enough. I wish I could have gotten the name of the nurse who did intake she was also very attentive and empathetic to our needs, friendly and informative a true professional in her field. Dr. Epstein was exactly what we needed and more that I expected. She took her time to explain and reassure us she gave us options and took time to answer all questions. She was very informative, patient and kind she made us feel at ease with what could have been a very stressful visit. I would definitely recommend her and the staff
Excellent bedside manners, prompt and efficient.
