List of Jodi Star's Reviews
If I could leave a negative review I would. The entire staff is unorganized and Dr. Star is always running late. None of the medicine she has prescribed my son has worked. Now he has terrible sleep problems. All of his symptoms have gotten worse. He has been seeing her for a little over a year now and she has literally been very late to every single appointment which we have been very understanding of. We have always given her the benefit of the doubt but what she did today showed she is extremely unprofessional and has no empathy. Usually our son's appointments are on zoom but today because his symptoms have been so bad his appointment was to be in person. We had one of the worst storms of the year, pouring rain and her office is 1 hour from our home so since our son had not slept in days, my husband felt it was best to drive him to his appointment as he is only 18 and not weather anyone should be driving in however if he missed this appointment Dr. Star's next available appointment was not for another month. He was running 13 minutes late and he had called her office when he was on the way and explained the weather to them and explained he might be late and they told him not to worry. His appointment was supposed to be for one hour and 10 min after his start time they called my phone since I am his mother and told me "Dr. Star had things to do and because he was already 10 min late we needed to reschedule." I explained that the weather was so severe and the entire situation and let them know he would be walking in any minute and let them know how sorry we were that he was going to be 12 minutes late but that we really needed Dr. Star to see please stay and just still stop at the usual end time and that by no means did we expect her to go over in time. She refused and then I literally begged from the bottom of my heart and let her know how worried I was for him to have to cancel his appointment and let them know I was worried about him going into a weekend and he was out of all of his medication and told them that I honestly didn't think he could wait another month for a rescheduled appointment. Again, I begged to ask her to please still stop her appointment at 7pm and not go over and her front staff ask her again and she refused. I again told them how worried we were and all the front desk staff kept repeating is that she will email us to reschedule. They obviously have a strict cancelation period and have billed our credit card on file. This is not about the money, I just find it despicable to care more about money than a child's health. She is heartless, lacks empathy and we now question her character. I wish I would have read the negative reviews before we started working with her. They are all true. For a Dr. to be late, literally every single time they have an appointment with you and then flat out refuse to see you during your appointment when you are actually having a health emergency when you drive an hour in a storm to see them and are only 12 min late is terrible. It clearly shows that she does not value her patients health and only cares about herself and money. I can not help but think this is probably happening for a reason and thankful she showed her true colors and lack of empathy and we will simply never be back. I hope no one has to go through what we as a family went through tonight. Also, her email never came, but I am not surprised. Her office will only send you the inital paperwork with pages and pages to fill out. After that they will not even send you a bill so you can send it in to your insurance company. She is super pricey and does not take insurance and I suspect our insurance will probably only reimburse us for a very small portion of her bill anyway. Again, this is not about the money, just letting you know she only cares about getting herself paid and literally does not care if you ever get paid, she won't even send you a superbill to send into your insurance company. Have never even once sent me an invoice but she sure bills my credit card on file without a glitch. In my option she is a money, hungry, negligent person and she should not call herself a DR.
I’ve been seeing Dr Star for about a year or so. She helped me through a rough pregnancy to find the right meds to help. The staff has always been helpful and I’ve never had any issues. She doesn’t take insurance but worth the fee when your average psychiatrist spends 5 mins with you and doesn’t get to really know you.
Genuinely one of the most toxic and negligent medical professionals I’ve ever dealt with. they will basically run up your bill despite none of the medications working, and then leave you without care when you need it most. Completely derailed my work life and productivity/functioning. Also CONSTANT misgendering. Nasty office staff too that will shame you for the awful crime of having adhd that affects your ability to schedule ur appointments on time. Might help if they actually medicated said adhd properly.
Both of the other one star reviews were my EXACT experience with this practice. Its a MESS where access to care can be revoked punitively just because the office staff feel like taking an ego trip. I literally morally am against leaving bad reviews but dr starr was so bad for my mental health that I just want to save other vulnerable people the trouble of being put in this spot.
As a doctor, I highly recommend Dr Star. She’s brilliant, talented and caring. She truly is a beam of light to those who are trapped in darkness.
After an initial, lengthy conversation with with one of your employees, Denise, back in April, I was told Dr Star has an opening to see/zoom my daughter on 6/23. After our initial conversation, Denise told she would email me the intake forms but ultimately they were never emailed to me. Since my initial conversation with Denise, I have left numerous voice messages with your office and so far (today is 6/20) no one has responded or called me back. If this is the way Dr Star is running her office I can only thank my lucky star and be grateful my daughter is not a patient. Of all the all professions to be in on the planet, to treat someone who is a prospective patient in such a way leads one to ponder how you treat your existing patients??? Whether this seemingly disconcerting and unprofessional treatment of prospective patients is owed to the dr or the office staff, the buck stops with Dr Star.
Dr. Star is fantastic. She always takes her time with her appointments and truly cares about helping her patients. Finding her has been life changing for our family. We can’t thank her enough.
Visits via zoom or telephone. Great lady who will do anything to help patients. VERY educated about all medications. Easy to converse with.
I was apprehensive of her abilities, and my daughter couldn't stand her. She talks very quickly, she is the typical shrink that can only ask, "How are you feeling". Her knowledge seems questionable. Worse yet is her unprofessional office staff, who have no idea what it means to take a message, and is completely incompetent. Every time they called they had messed something up, misplaced credit card information, etc. Terrible experience
Very Professional Doctor and Staff, Great Atmosphere and follow up. Would recommend to family and friends

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
