List of Angel Gonzalez Rodriguez's Reviews
I saw Dr. GONZALES Rodriguez on June 21st. Was told to get neurosurgeon name from his office to make a appointment. Stop at radiology to get copy of ct scan. I got that next day at ZH. However, to get appointment with surgeon as he requested has been a chore. To get in contact with his office to forward records and others has been not so fun. There is a old saying the left hand doesn't want to Co operate with right hand. Next time a doctor request me to see another, I'm going to stay at his office while his office takes care of his request before I leave. The surgeon needed the referral and records. Now I'm waiting for Dr. GONZALES Rodriguez office to have him sign off for June 21st records from when I saw him to have them forwarded. Hopefully they get them before my appointment on July 19th.
I saw Dr. Gonzalez for the first time recently, and this will be my last. He seems competent, but had no interest in learning about me as a patient or listening to my concerns. Definitely not the consultative approach that I want to experience with a caregiver. He literally had one foot out the door as I was trying to ask questions. His recommendation was "wear a brace for 4 months and if it doesn't get better, have surgery".
Very caring knowledgeable and friendly
I wish EVERY DOCTOR ON MY HEALTH TEAM was as kind, concerned, and caring as Dr. Gonzalez. I have been a patient of his for over 12 years and during those 12 years, I have seen many changes in his practice. I was referred to Dr. Gonzalez to get help managing my migraines during my pregnancy. He's been my neurologist ever since. Dr. Gonzalez has consistently showed concern about me as a person and concern about my support system and family. He was not just interested in my neurological diagnosis. I appreciate the active listening Dr. Gonzalez gives to my concerns, especially in this day and time of impersonal, digitized communication and everything being so rushed. His recommendations and interventions have restored a big part of my quality of life. When pain is alleviated, I can breathe again, and smile again. Here's what I know. When I arrive to my appointments and greet office staff with positivity and politeness, usually, it is reciprocated. I do know his practice is very busy and there are times it can be difficult to reach someone over the phone. I don't attribute that to the doctor himself. There have been staffing shortages for the last few years regarding receptionists, medical assistants, and support staff. The few times there have been issues with support staff, I completed the satisfaction surveys Florida Medical Clinic used to give out and handled my issues that way. I personally, have not had an issue with Dr. Gonzalez that wasn't covered under graciousness and realizing that although Mr. Gonzalez is a physician, he is human and so are his staff members. This does not absolve them of their roles to be professional and positive, but I know I don't get things right everyday and I don't want anyone blaming me for something I cannot control. I also would hope someone would give me grace for having a rough moment or having a bad day. I believe in 2nd chances for certain things. Again, I am not writing this review to disprove anyone's experience because I did not attend their appointments. I have only attended mine. I am indeed grateful for Dr. Gonzalez visiting me in the hospital after giving birth to my daughter. He helped resolve my mega migraine combined with an epidural headache because NO DOCTOR IN THE HOSPITAL could help me. I am thankful that Dr. Gonzalez gathers information from his patients besides just the diagnosis. There have been times I arrived to appointments and I was exhausted and depressed. The front office staff encouraged me, andgave me a Kleenex to wipe my tears. Dr. Gonzalez encouraged me as well. It made a difference. He is concerned about how my medications effect me because I am a mom and caregiver. He really cares. I appreciate you Dr. Gonzalez, your nurse, transcriptionist, and the office staff who work so hard to answer all of the calls, and check everyone in and out correctly under overwhelming circumstances. I am sorry for those who did not have a good experience while visiting your practice. I am thankful and grateful that my mindset, outlook, point of view, and experience are different. Your practice has always been 5 stars to my family. I would refer you to my family and friends with the caveat of how busy your practice is, but if the person can wait for an appointment, it is worth it. Best regards.
Previous experiences with neurologists has found them to be very clinical and inattentive. Dr. Gonzalez is the exact opposite. He is very attentive. He looks you in the eyes and listens. He asks a lot of question, spends quality time with you and explains medical terminology so you can understand. His personality is very pleasant and upbeat.
I would avoid going to this place unless you want to know what it's like to wait 35 minutes in the lobby just to be taken to a room where you'll wait to see Dr. Gonzalez for another 50 minutes or so just staring at the walls. While I was was waiting, absolutely no-one came in to even check on me, ask how I'm doing and at least let me know why it was taking so long. All this after waiting a little over two weeks just to get this appointment...and the lady I that I made the appointment with over the phone sounded like she hated her job. Very unprofessional. They left me with no choice but to just get up and leave. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
Although I was not a patient, I observed Dr. Gonzales during a visit with my sister who I accompanied. His bedside manner was exceptional. He was kind, understanding and extremely patient. He took the time to perform several memory tests in a caring and reassuring manner. He was not rushed and explained everything in detail. He treated my sister with much respect and empathy. His staff( Marissa) was also very thorough and competent.
Worst of the worst. No bed side manners, very little to no professionalism. He talks a lot to make it look like he's knowledgeable, but in reality, he doesn't have a clue.
I had 2 appointments with Dr Gonzalez. He canceled the first one and re-scheduled. I arrived early for the 2nd/rescheduled appointment but he was late, or running late. In any case after more than an hour of sitting in the waiting room I had to leave because of other commitments. I had used 3 hours of PTO for a 45 minute appointment and he still couldn't make it on time. Twice!! He clearly has little regard for patient schedules.
I have had Dr. Gonzales as my neurologist for 6 plus years. I was trying to call the office due to technical problems they had yesterday during my appointment. I looked it up and couldn't believe the negative reviews I read. I am not taking away nor am I negating the experiences people speak of. My experience with Dr Gonzalez is, he is very professional, cares about me as his patient and I feel like we are partners in my health care. I wanted to give my experiences. Again, every 90 days for over 6 years I do engage with he and his office staff often.Janet his assistant is also amazing and cares! There have been some hiccups, but never made me feel unappreciated as a patient. There have been a couple times the receptionist was short, but people have bad days. I am not making light of other experiences, again, I am speaking from my own and I would, and HAVE recommended people to Dr. Gonzales as I feel he is an asset to Florida Medical and he has helped me in the last 6 years. Thank you Dr. Gonzales and Janet!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
