Dr Bastien was very thorough. She treated me with care.
I wanted to like having her as a doctor, here is a nice, young female doctor, what's not to like? I won't put too many details, because we are still considering our options. But I will say that she failed to listen and heed the many signs that were present, causing someone I love to be misdiagnosed for months. She refused to order basic diagnostic studies, even after we asked for them. It took an ER visit to find out what was really going on. My advice for her is to learn to listen instead of telling, to check the patient out through an actual physical examination and to not be so sure that she knows what is wrong. We have diagnostic tools, use them.
Her being nice is the only thing that filled the first star. I have been to her 3 times and each time I wait triple the time she’s seen me. I recently went for a visit regarding intense back and hip pain that had been going on for more than 3 weeks. She didn’t even touch the area but thought by context she knew exactly what was wrong and prescribed me muscle relaxers because of course a bandaid is the solution. She then told me to put ice, stretch, and take the pills. If all continues in 3 weeks then come back for an X-ray. She is a typical doctor who prescribes and moves on without checking the situation thoroughly for herself.
Dr Perard is the best doctor I’ve ever had. So much so, I followed her after she changed practice and I’m happy to drive over an hr each way for her. She is thorough, knowledgeable, supports her statements with lab work, and takes the time to listen. Does not escalate to needless medications nor she brushes off your concerns with shallow “lifestyle changes” recommendations only. I’m also gladly surprised on the quality of care I’ve found on her new home, Advent Health.
I really appreciate Dr.Perard. When no one would listen to me, she did. She took great time in understanding my concerns and why I was feeling the way I had felt. I really wish she had a location in St.Pete again!
Dr. Perard and her staff are what I would consider dangerously incompetent. It took six months to get one prescription correct. She put me under the care of an endocrinologist and then prescribed me an extra 100 units of insulin at bedtime without discussing it with me (she sent the prescription to my pharmacy and they informed me of the new medication and the dosing). This amount could have killed me in my sleep. I've had discolored hands and a severe pain in my abdomen, but she refused to acknowledge it during my routine physical because "the physical is free, but the hospital will charge you if I write down new issues." I just found out the other day that my liver enzymes are off the charts and have been for months. My wife couldn't walk, went to urgent care, and told her to follow up with her primary care (Dr. Perard). Since I'd complained about my prescription issues, she refused to order an MRI for my wife saying there was no evidence saying she needed one even though a radiologist at urgent care noted a twelve millimeter mass stuck in my wife's knee on an x-ray. When Dr. Perard finally got my prescription fixed after 6 months, it was actually incorrect. I asked her to fix it a week ago. The durable medical equipment company has not gotten the updated prescription. Dr. Perard has given dangerous care, she has lied to me multiple times, she has ignored life threatening symptoms, her staff is grossly incompetent, and I wouldn't send my most hated enemy to her. She called me one day to get everything sorted out and I was actually excited to receive her call since I figured it would be the conclusion to a very frustration situation. Instead of solving my problems, she rattled off how nothing was her fault, nothing was her staff's fault, nothing was Advent's fault, and basically said I was being a difficult patient by asking her to fill a prescription correctly over the last 5 months (at that point) and asking about a massive lethal dose of insulin she prescribed. Nothing was resolved. She sent in the prescriptions while I was on the phone, but again, they were incorrect when the pharmacy called to schedule delivery. The amount of time, money, physical, and mental pain that I've endured because of her since October 2021 is outrageous. I've switched to another doctor and I'm so disgusted with Perard and how all this was handled. Even after complaining, representatives from AdventHealth contacted me and as soon as I said I wasn't considering suing (at that time), they basically ignored me. All of my issues and all of the mistakes could have been handled by Dr. Perard herself in less than about ten minutes, but she chose to be lazy and drag it out for six months (and even more since she still hasn't corrected her mistake with the durable medical equipment). And when I contacted my cardiologist for assistance because the device I needed was cardiac-related, Dr. Perard sent me a message telling me to find another primary care doctor. So even though she's rude and incompetent, she's trying to make me look like the bad guy because I'm simply trying to get relief for my condition (and I'd been very patient for 6 months) and because I questioned a prescription that could have killed me. If you want full details, feel free to contact me through my gwright81 Gmail profile and I'll be happy to send a copy of my extremely long and detailed letter to AdventHealth about how dangerous, arrogant, and punitive this woman is. If you're thinking of going to Dr. Perard, I'd strongly recommend against it. You'd probably get much more competent care, vastly more compassion, and infinitely less stress from a first year veterinary student who doesn't even speak your language and has to work with you through a series of charades-like hand gestures and grunts. This woman should lose her license.
WORST DR I HAVE EVER HAD. I AM 74 SO I HAVE HAD LOTS OF DRS She cares about herself only. As I said The WORST
She is very kind and thorough , patient and efficient.
Elderly mother 98 yrs old. Dr Bastien was so attentive and engaged with Pt. Her bed side manners, her unhurried approach, how she included me in her care of my mother, was so great and comforting to my mother. My mother who dementia, blind and hard of hearing certain voices, was able to communicate through me. Other people insist on yelling in her face even though they are told to communicate thru me. I recommend her highly. What a great Md she is in her young age.
I'M A MEDICARE INS BROKER AND I RECENTLY ASSIGNED DR. DAIHLA AS A PCP TO ONE OF MY CLIENTS. MY CLIENT LOVED DR. DAIHLA SO MUCH THAT THEY CALLED ME AND ASKED ME TO LEAVE A REVIEW FOR HER. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED. SO THANK YOU DR. DAIHLA FOR GOING OVER AND BEYOND.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
