Daniel Hellerstein's Online Review Report Card

Rarely in today's times do you find a doctor like Dr. Hellerstein. He is a sincere kind and caring doctor. He listened and ran tests exhausting all possibilities of what was ailing me. He diagnosised me and placed me on a treatment that has significantly improved my condition.His staff is polite and professional. I would recommend him to anyone seeking care in his field.

If I were able to give a 0 for this doctor, I would. After waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes he walks in the room, and the only words out of his mouth were "How can I help you," so incredibly rude only because the urologist I had previously seen is in the same network. He suggested I go back to the other doctor I had seen. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this doctor.

I took my mom the first time to Dr Hellerstein. He showed no compassion to my mom and every comment was negative. I feel terrible that mom waited over an hour in a wheel chair with major anxiety over her catheter and suffers dementia. If this was his mom I bet my life he would not appreciate any doctor treating his mom with such disrespect and so cold and negative. My mom has been through so much and needs support, caring and compassion is too much to ask. He does not deserve to be in the field, heartless. I never would post anything like this but hours later I still am upset for how bad he treated my mom. We only have one mom and he sure could have cared less.

I was a new arrival in Florida and in need of medical assistance. I was referred to Dr Hellerstein. My experience was extremely positive in a stressful situation. Dr Hellerstein is extremely knowledgeable in his specialty. He is very comprehensive and direct. He uses a variety of current technologies. His office and medical staff also provided a great customer experience. They are professional, efficient, considerate, and friendly. I do not hesitate to provide a 5 star review.

This Dr. refused me as a patient because I had already seen another Dr in the 21st century Oncology group. So though this Dr might be able to help me better than my previous urologist I was refused so that my previous Dr didn't get hurt feelings.He referred me to the UM Specialty Center for Urology in Miami over 100mi away from my house. Stating that "The Dr. would be unable to help you with your condition, he suggests you go to the UM Specialty Center for Urology" I had to ask if I had a condition that my previous Dr. had not informed me about that I would need to go to a specialty center to have it resolved.... It took over 10 min and 3 check ins from the secretary to the dr for her to finally tell me that he didn't want to see me because of a professional courtesy to another Dr.They couldn't even tell me that upfront. It was better to inflate the possibility of me having a serious condition that would require I drive 100mi to see another specialist as opposed to just saying no.There is no reason for your Dr. to do a good job in treating you if you cannot go to a different Dr. They can just bullsh*t you because you don't have another choice.Shame on you, shame on this practice & shame on the 21st century Oncology group. If your group of doctors are so weak they cannot handle a patient transferring to a new Dr. it questions the quality of the service you provide.

Dr. Hellerstein has treated me for many years for kidney stones. After dealing with a couple of stones over a few years, I was yet again in horrific pain & knew that I had another stone. After diagnostic testing, I was found to have 9 stones (5 in one kidney, 4 in the other). It was obvious to Dr. Hellerstein that he had to find out WHY my body was forming so many stones in a short amount of time!! An elaborate urinalysis was done at a lab out west & my citrate level was almost non-existent. (A normal citrate level prevents stones from forming)The medication to bring that level up is very acidic and rough on your stomach. Dr. Hellerstein had me adjust the dosage so as to work up to the proper dose for me. I’ve now gone years with no new stones. Most of the original 9 are gone - some passed, some were blasted & others had to be removed. All of the outpatient procedures were performed by Dr. Hellerstein with a kind & compassionate level of care.I have seen this doctor every year to make sure all of my levels are normal (& they have been for many years now) and that the stones that are “in a happy place” have not grown or moved into a bad area!!I am moving out of this State & unfortunately will not be able to use Dr. Hellerstein any more and for that, I am sad as he is a very knowledgeable doctor with a very kind & caring demeanor. I will miss this doctor!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. NO ANALYSIS, CONFUSING DIRECTIONS, NO TIME. THE WORST

Waited an hour to see the doctor then he had no beside manner. He didn’t even say hello when he walked in the room. Very rude- I won’t be back.
