Dr. Scoma performed my lobectomy for lung cancer. He evidently took a curative approach and was successful in removing the cancer and lymph nodes affected. So grateful to Dr Scoma, my new hero and his excellent staff!!! Best, Terri

During a very difficult time I went to Dr Scoma for a consultation. He meet me with concern and an unrushed conversation. His detail gave me detailed information and statistics about my cancer. He told me how and why he would perform surgery. He is a master with concern and compassion. He performed the surgery and 5 years later I am doing well. Amazing doctor to have on your care team! Had a VATS procedure to remove a mass in chest and he was thorough and honest in his explanation of the procedure and recovery. He isn't dismissive of any questions and you know you are in good hands. He is also highly regarded in his community. Each Dr (total of 4) I saw for different aspects of my disease complimented him when they knew he was doing my surgery and urged me not to go to anyone else except Dr Scoma. Also, the ladies in the office Laurie and Kelly are spectacular and offered assistance in every step of the process.

Extremely dissatisfied. I went to ER and they found a mass on left lung. Everything seemed to be moving quickly - setting up pulmonary doctor and appt with Dr. Scoma, getting PET Scan, CT scan, Brain MRI, biopsy - suddenly everything stalled. Mass is a carcinoma. I had a biopsy he was to have spoken to my daughter after the procedure but they missed each other. Since it was during the holiday weekend - I waited until Tuesday afternoon to call him to see if there was anything to report. His girl, Laurie, was extremely rude and sarcastic and said that he has nothing to say to me as they do not have the pathology report. I asked her to have him call me as that Saturday I ended up with an infection and was admitted into the hospital. I even faxed them the records. Never heard a word from the doctor. I called again Thursday afternoon and he finally gets on the phone and tells me that he wants to refer me to a medical oncologist and that his girl will set up the appt and call me on Friday with the appointment. Again, have not heard a word back. No Appointment. If you want your condition to worsen then I recommend this doctor but if you want your problem handled in a timely fashion and get the best treatment possible to get you on a road of recovery then I suggest you find another doctor!!!!!! Would not recommend!!!! Now that I think of it my late husband had throat and lung cancer and it just occurred to me that he saw this doctor as well about 6 years ago and the doctor did nothing.
