Thanks again!
A very kind and gentle man with a wonderful bedside manner and most importantly a very skillful surgeon. Dr Rotter makes a very frightening situation a whole lot easier. Skin cancer is no joke ... a gift from my Scottish heritage and years of sunburn’s pre sunscreen. I’ve been seeing Dr Rotter for over 20 years for basal and squamous cell cancer on my face, nose, arms, hands, legs, foot, chest, and back for Mohs surgery (named after Dr Moh). I guess you could say I’m a frequent flyer. 😱 Twenty years ago, my local dermatologist, removed a squamous cell cancer on my leg, stitched me up and sent what he removed to pathology, I remember it being very painful and slow healing. I went to have the stitches removed @ 3 weeks and was told he needed to go back in, because the pathology report showed he didn’t get it all. That’s when I found Dr Rotter, I drive over an hour to get to his office and would never go anywhere else !!! Very, organized, very kind and knowledgeable staff. Moira, my angel in disguise, was by my side, very calming, comforting while assisting Dr Rotter. Moira takes pictures before, during and post op, I prefer not to see them, afraid I’ll pass out.

Dr. Steven Rotter is a very experienced surgeon. He specializes in Mohs surgery. I believe that he trained in Mohs at Johns Hopkins. He has performed several Mohs surgeries in my and my husband, with outstanding results. I have also used Dr. Steven Rotter for several cosmetic and laser procedures. I would highly recommend Dr. Rotter. You only want to go to the best physician for cancer surgeries and cosmetic procedures. Beware when choosing just ANY physician. There are way too many horror stories out there!
Dr Steven Rotter is truly outstanding. Conscientious and professional he has provided me with outstanding Dermatology care and advice for over 10 years. I value his surgical and diagnostic skills trust his judgment implicitly. He maintains a courteous and carrying staff that are easy to work with and I consider myself lucky to have found him. Dr. Rotter used a super high pressure sales pitch to make me consent to skin cancer surgery, It was the WORST MISTAKE of my life. I would give anything to to be able to go back to the way I was before he butchered me. More at

Dr Rotter used what could only be called a ultra high pressure sales job to make have surgery, it was the worst mistake of my life. I would give anything to be able to go back the way I was before I went to him.
My father (who is in his 90s) has had MOHS surgery with Dr. Rotter several times through the years. Over the past few months he had two procedures in two months. Dr. Rotter and his staff were friendly, efficient, and very thoughtful. He was clear on what he was going to do and what the followup care should be. I was very happy with how they cared for my father and took care of the growths on the top of his head. If I ever need this type of surgery I'm sure I'll go to Dr. Rotter.
What a disappointing experience. I made an appointment to come in for hair removal laser treatment. On my first visit for consultation with Dr. Rotter, I was in the room with the him for maybe no more than 7 minutes if not less, and was told that my skin color was too dark for their machine to do the procedure. What a load of baloney! I was forced to pay the consolation fee of $150 just be told that doing hair laser on my skin tone is too risky. I feel so betrayed. They should put a sign on their building that reads "White skin people only".

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
