David Friedman's Online Review Report Card

I went yesterday for a visit for the first time with this doctor and he was very informative, patient and funny. yes the appointment didn’t take long but he did cover everything that needed to be done in that appointment. He will be doing both my hands surgery since i have carpal tunnel. I am very happy with this doctor and i do recommend him. Don’t believe everything you read, the bad comments don’t make sense! Try it for your self and you will see he is extremely careful and nice.

I repeatedly asked this doctor for antibiotics and told him the night before I had seen infection in my finger. He denied that request and he also denied giving me any type of oral pain medication even though I have a history of having zero use of pain medication on my medical records. I had almost sliced off my pointer finger. The entire tip was half inch cut. I ended up with another hand surgeon and I had a major infection that required oral antibiotics and it could have been a horrible situation where I could’ve gone septic. Do not use him. He also talks over you.

The reviews for Friedman are laughable. Save yourself from this horrible human being and do not engage with him. He escorts his mistakes out of the office and won't answer questions. Cleveland Clinic covers for him and unpardonable patient treatment. I rue the day I ever met him and would sue him if I could.

Dr did Xiaflex procedure and I was subjected to pure torture. He mislead me about possible side effects and cost of the drug. Saw him two times post procedure when he dismissed me from care: "you're fine, call me if you need me." Six weeks later fingers were curled much worse than prior to procedure. When I went back to him, he would not answer questions and had his nurse take me by the arm and walk me out of the office. Cleveland Clinic refused to deal with me. Please don't subject yourself to this incompetent, even cruel, treatment.

I am going to avoid providing too many specifics because of fear of retaliation. Physician is unsympathetic to patient's plight and does not seem to understand that patients are showing up because they have a problem and need help. I found that he had made up his mind on the diagnosis with no reference to (patient) complaints and observed symptoms, as if they are not a metric for further investigation and treatment. It was difficult to even get him to listen to the problem and he kept on interrupting factual description of the problem with his statements refuting the observations and reiterating his diagnosis before even hearing out the complaint. He was overall extremely unhelpful and I wish I could give him 0 stars. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I wish I had read these reviews before going to this doctor. Everything they say is true. This doctor is rude. Talks over you and gets very annoyed if you ask him to listen to whst you are saying. Had surgery one year ago. Every follow up I complained of pain and sleep deprivation. I found out later my chart always said patient is having no pain. I challenged him about falsifying my medical record and he literally said it's no big deal. My last visit, I repeatedly asked for my concerns to be documented and the nurse practitioner swore he was writing everything in my chart. When I checked a few weeks later all the notes are missing. This is not only poor practice, it's fraud. I cant even get Cleveland clinic to send me the medical records of who erased my chart. My hand is permanently damaged and there's nothing i can do except warn others.

Dr. Friedman was recommended by my boss who had hand surgery. I read reviews, but decided to take my boss' word. I am glad I did. I went to see Dr Friedman for a 2nd opinion as the first surgeon I went to wanted to give me cortisone and therapy after which possibly surgery (unless I want the surgery now). Dr. Friedman was pleasant and so thorough in examining my hand, in comparison with the 1st guy, it was day and night. Dr. Friedman checked pretty much every inch on my hand and wrist. I can't for the life of me understand how anyone thought he has terrible bedside manners. I could immediately see the level of care and difference between the two doctors. Dr. Friedman told me cortisone is unnecessary and that I will not need surgery. Takes 3 months for tears like mine to heal, it's normal. Yes, he wasn't in there for a half an hour chatting with me, but the other guy was and he was a kook! 15 min with Dr. Friedman are 100% attention on what's important and it's worth 30 min with others.

Very disappointed

This doctor should be disciplined. He does not explore options and goes directly to surgical procedures. Injected Xiaflex in hand/fingers in the most painful experience imagined. He then refuses to answer questions or give directions. Procedure was a failure and fingers are worse that before procedure. Do not use the doctor if you care about your hand/fingers.
