In this day and time it isn't often that you can find a physician that has the skill and knowledge to treat those in medical crisis and can also show empathy and concern for the emotional need of the patient. Dr. Giovanna DaSilva is that such doctor. Dr. DaSilva was very thorough in explaining my medical process in detail; never leaving me anxious or confused. She truly cares about the health and well being of her patients. I am blessed and thankful to have had her as my surgeon and attending physician.

I saw her 2-3 times 2014-16. She is exceptionally caring & compassionate. I lived about 3-hr. away, and had to call her 3x- she always made a point of calling me the same day (sometimes between cases if she was in the OR) but she always got back to me, and never made me feel like an inconvenience! Dr DeSilva Southwick is an amazing surgeon, doctor and person. Diagnosed me first visit and did what no other doctor up until then had, performed successful resection surgery and no bag and out of pain. She and her staff and the Cleveland Clinic in Weston are top notch in patient satisfaction and just good people.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. DaSilva! Almost 3 years ago, she performed surgery on my daughter, who had Stage 2 colon cancer, which we feel saved her life. On her day off, Thanksgiving Day, she called my daughter in her hospital room to check up on her! Last year, she did my routine colonoscopy, (which my previous gastro guy complained was so difficult that he might not do it again). Dr. DaSilva found it to be no big deal, and put my mind to rest about my severe diverticulosis. Recently, I had some intestinal issues, and called Cleveland Clinic. Since the gastro department was booked solid, they got me in with Dr. DaSilva very quickly. She set me up with a gastro person, but got the testing going in the meantime. Within a few days, I had a Salmonella diagnosis, was medicated, and on the road to recovery. After my colonoscopy, I was quickly discharged before she could talk to me, so she called me at home that night. With this last Salmonella diagnosis, she has called me at home twice! What doctor does that?! She is just WONDERFUL!
