List of Daniel W. Welch's Reviews
I saw Dr. Patail/Haines City. She sent me to Dr. Damon Welch for a questionable carcinoma. That apt took a month. I’ve been sick to my stomach with worry. After 1+ hr Damon Welch saw me for 2 minutes without introducing himself. As he walked out I asked if it’s anything of concern. He replied “We will talk about that”. I never saw him again. I was sent to the back waiting for over another hour. Other patients were upset about their wait. I was told I needed dilation. I informed the tech I had no driver and was not told I needed this. Finally Dr. Daniel Welch walked in without introducing himself. Very rudely stated since I declined dilation I couldn’t have surgery. I questioned what he was referring to since neither Dr. had an actual conversation with me. He proceeded to stick the machine in my face dismissing me. I told him he wasn’t answering me and I said I was going to get up and leave. He said ok. I literally left in tears. I will never return & left with so many questions.
You need to stay clear of this man. Check his ratings. He is far from a 5 star. If you have farsightedness you are more at risk. My eyes will never improve. His surgery is like his bed-side manners poor at best. I am a professional writer who is now nearsighted, needing corrective lenses, and must wear 275 for reading.
Went today for chalazion that I've had since April. Nothing has helped. Dr. Welch came in the room and was there for less than 5 min. He didn't listen to me at all. Totally ignored me telling him that warm compresses make things worse and lead to worsening infections. Asked me questions but didn't wait for answers. Told my husband I felt like a dog at a vet. No bedside manner. After he left the room, I asked the nurse, "does he listen"? And of course she backed him. She brought me to the 3rd waiting area to schedule the surgery, but I walked out. Will not be back. Cried the whole way home. Thanks double for nothing. Maybe you should think about retiring.
Dr. Daniel Welch performed cataract surgery on both my left and right eyes. Everything went well and I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend the Eye Specialists of Mid Florida to family and friends.
I've been a patient of this doctor for 5 years and he still doesn't know me. Very impersonal. He asks me how I'm doing but doesn't listen for my response. Yesterday, I spent two and one half hours in this freezing cold building relayed from one test to the other. I told the assistants I wanted a new vision prescription but they resisted, trying to convince me I probably needed another laser treatment for scar tissue on left eye (had it on R eye but no improvement). Did a refraction and claimed little need for upgrade. Finally called in the optometrist to do another refraction and said I did need an upgrade. So assistant wrote prescription but refused to write one for 23" distance to my computer which I've always gotten in the past. Said any optical place could do it easily. When I got to Walmart Optical, optometrist there said he needed a prescription, but was nice enough to try to write the adjustment. We'll see if it works. Very disappointed in the entire experience.
Very professional and friendly! Willing to help to improve my eyes. I enjoy going there, it is always a great experience even when you having problem. you know you are going to the best who will get the job done!4
I had intraocular lens implant done by Dr. Daniel Welch in 2015. He gave me very professional service and really is a fine doctor. His son worked with him at the time and also did very well. I had a film grow over my eye within a year and he did a laser procedure to correct that, which is fairly typical. It was handled very professionally. I am deeply impressed with him and his son and would recommend them to anyone needing this type of procedure.
I had eye surgery performed by Dr. Welch and a follow up corrective procedure about a month later for my left eye and paid completely out of pocket for everything. I won't go into medically specific details about my health, but after a common eye procedure, corrective procedure, and follow ups I won't be going back. Vision is too important for me and I've had to result in looking elsewhere for help. I continue to see my main optometrist who is also a part of the main organization and is wonderfully fantastic, I only wish her colleagues shared her same level of compassion for patients; it could have saved us a few thousand dollars.
Highly recommended. Dr Daniel Welch did cataract surgery recently on my right eye. Dr Damon Welch did cataract surgery 1 week later on my left eye. I haven't experienced any pain before, during,or after surgery. I wouldn't let anyone else work on my eyes other than these 2 doctors. You are definitely in good hands with these 2 doctors. Relax, nothing to worry about. The staff is very friendly. I cant give them enough stars. Again, highly recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
